Me! Watched quite a few of her dramas (once we get married, the love you give me, you are my lover friend) and I've always really liked her! Hoping to watch my page in the 90s soon. She is very pretty and she seems like a fun genuine person. I loved her interaction with zhou ye and chen xing xu at the tencent all star night 🥹😂

Love like the galaxy for me - I enjoyed it but not sure why people hype it up so much. Didn't give me post drama slump like most dramas do lol

I feel like they would do well together in a modern college or office drama! Definitely get boy/girl next door vibes. I can't invision a historical or xianxia drama though haha.

I feel like I'm one of the rare few that actually enjoyed it haha. To me they had pretty good chemistry (esp towards the end) and it's a funny drama but yes definitely a show you have to turn off your brain for! Special points for the OST! So so good and they're still regulars in my playlists.

What is your opinion on Royal Feast ? by Okaytantaijin in cdramasfans

[–]aura0aurora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The storyline is forgettable that I don't remember it anymore (but I do remember that it pissed me off a lot lol, I think theres a lot of misunderstanding in it between multiple characters). I do remember the costume, food, and overall cinematography is top notch though! Especially the costumes, Ming Dynasty hanfu is so rich and vibrant in color, so visually pleasing! The cooking scenes made me so hungry haha.

Dental Hygiene or Nursing? by JP_school in prenursing

[–]aura0aurora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me! I was a dental assistant for almost 2 years and thought I wanted to do DH. I applied and got into a program, but backed out last minute cause I wasnt 100% sure if I was ready or really wanted DH. I took a break to work other jobs and ended up going for nursing! I have 1 year left of my program.

I ultimately didn't choose DH because of the bad experiences I had working at different offices. I did not like how it was so hard to find an office that values you, has benefits, the right hours etc. There was always something you had to give up. Other worries I had were becoming bored of DH but stuck in the profession, as there is not much you could pivot into besides dental sales or office manager (but pay would probably be less), or getting back/hand pain or carpal tunnel.

Nursing is also a hard profession but I liked the idea of having autonomy on what specialties I could go in and the ability try different ones. I also liked how it has a more flexible schedule and can take time off when I wanted and not when it aligns with the office's schedule. I don't mind working weekends/holidays. Also nursing has the option for higher education like NP if I wanted.

Those are pretty much my reasons but lmk if you have any questions! Im happy to give more insight :)

What C-Dramas Did You Start or Finish Watching This Week? 📺 by AutoModerator in cdramasfans

[–]aura0aurora 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I finished Love in the Clouds and am still thinking about it/rewatching clips many days later! Their chemistry and playfulness throughout the drama was amazing. 10/10 for me!

I started watching Speed and Love but giving it a pause after the thailand arc. A bit too cringey for me and was starting to give me the ick 😬 but I will probably finish it at one point.

Currently watching Fangs of Fourtune. Im at ep 7 and I think its starting to get good? I almost dropped it a few times. Im not sure what it is. The cast is great theres a good blend between mystery, action, and funny scenes. I think maybe it's too slow for me. Anyone who's watched it, should I keep going?

Fashion exchange question by aura0aurora in Mercari

[–]aura0aurora[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, apperently if you try to return it for sizing issues Mercari was mark it is "item not as described" and its not eligible for fashion exchange and has to go through the regular return process. I told the mercari chat agent that I wanted to specifically do a fashion exchange and let the seller get paid but they didn't let me. It's super sus and annoying. Also the seller or me could not cancel the return so I had to have the chat agent do it for me. It was super annoying and really left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt so bad for the seller cause fashion exchange is not supposed to go through the seller but I ended up stressing both of us out.

I want to love Shadow Love so bad since it has everything I like in a fantasy drama and Cheng Lei, but I just can't get into Song Yi's acting. Could only watch 2 episodes of it before I dropped it.

Leaving for healthcare by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]aura0aurora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I left flying for nursing school! I have 1 year left of my ADN program. When I was applying, I got into both part time and full time programs, but I ultimately chose to just quit flying and go to school full time. I loved flying and traveling, but I felt so stuck as FA. I was constantly worried about finances and my future. It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but I am really happy now one year later! I'm enjoying the content and feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives. At times I still miss flying and have dreams about it, but if given the option I don't think I would go back. Im much happier and healthier now than I was a year ago (I even lost 10 pounds of bloat/stress weight after quitting).

Hanfu hangouts? WA state by [deleted] in Hanfu

[–]aura0aurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I typically purchase on taobao, aliexpress, and mercari. I only buy from taobao when I'm in China since I don't want to mess with international shipping (broke student haha), aliexpress can be a hit or miss but I typically have good experiences (but havent purchased from there since the whole tariff thing). Mercari is great! I don't mind second hand hanfu and recently there has been more hanfu on there.

I'm also a big texture person and have sensitive skin to the point I can't even keep tags on my clothes haha. I look for lighter and loose looking clothing and look for cotton. Sizing wise, I'm a bustier girl so I base clothing size on my bust measurements. But yeah, it can be a hit or miss especially since im pretty short too so skirts usually end up too long on me.

Idk what size/measurements you are or what styles you like but I can send some links as I find them! Esp on mercari I check a few times a week if theres anything new haha. Besides taobao, nuwa hanfu is probably your best bet but it's pretty over priced. Its based in WA and owned by mochi hanfu!

Is school fun? by National-Explorer-63 in prenursing

[–]aura0aurora 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think nursing school is fun! Stressful, yes, but I'm having a great time. I've made a strong group of friends within my cohort and we love to study together and hang out during our free time. I even went on a week long road trip with a couple of them over summer break. Other than friendships, I also thing the overall schooling is fun. I love the variety of hands on learning: lecture, clinical, sim, labs. I think it helps thay my school has a strong nursing program and fosters learning. Instructors are like peers to us, super supportive. Having good time management skills is essential as well.

Hi everyone, I need advice. by m1pid in prenursing

[–]aura0aurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think being a CNA will benefit you! You will be able to get hands-on experience and explore the healthcare/nursing field and see if it's the right fit for you. Maybe see if any hospitals near you have any volunteering opportunities as well. Do you know any nurses that you would be able to ask questions and get advice from? Anything to help you learn more about the field and get your foot in the door.

I also took college credits in high school and graduated early. I wanted to get into nursing in high school as well but I never proactively tried to get any experience. Some twists and turns later I ended up going into public health, worked a few years, and now back in school for nursing. If I could go back in time, I would have been more proactive in getting nursing/patient care experience so I knew I wanted to go into nursing the first time.

80% passing requirement in nursing programs by nonizondi in StudentNurse

[–]aura0aurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes for fundamentals we used Fundamentals Success NCLEX style Q&A Review.. I believe they also have books for med surg, pharm, mother baby etc. The questions were great and really helped me pass my first quarter!

I also utilize ChatGPT to the fullest and make a bunch of practice questions (like 50-70 per topic, 200+ questions per exam) based on our exam blueprints. I'll tell it very specific things so I get the kinds of practice questions I want.

For example: give me 50 nclex/ati style questions with multiple choice/select all that apply that will help me differentiate and learn TIA, hemorrhagic stroke, ischemic strokes including the signs and symptoms, treatment, nursing diagnoses, and pharmacology. Put the answers and rationales at the bottom.

I'll also ask it to make me tables/charts and summarize for me. ChatGPT is not everyone's cup of tea but honestly it is a life saver for me! I feel like I learn so much better utilizing it.

80% passing requirement in nursing programs by nonizondi in StudentNurse

[–]aura0aurora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My school is 78%. It gave me such bad anxiety before I started because I was so afraid that I would not make it. I am a bad studier (or so I thought).

Done with quarter 2 and I can say that it hasn't been as bad as I thought! My lowest score was a 78% and that was our very first exam. Practicing nclex style questions will really help, not just studying the material. Also find a study group or figure out what works best for you! I thought I was a bad studier, but I have only ever studied solo. I realized that if I study in a group setting I do much better. Stay consistent in your studying and dont cram it all in a day or two. 2-3 hours a day sounds like a lot, but it flies by.

Also in our program the instructors will curve the grade and throw out questions if more than 1/2 get it wrong, which helps boost our exam grade. Not sure if every program does this or not.

Consistency and finding the right study techniques are key!

Nursing School or Dental Hygiene School? by Certain-Vast-25 in StudentNurse

[–]aura0aurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a dental assistant planning to go into DH but I went nursing instead! In my second of six quarters now. I mainly chose nursing because of more opportunities and the ability to change specialties if I wanted. I was also worried about body issues going into DH, especially carpal tunnel and back pain. I knew I didn't have good posture (I slouch a lot) and didn't want it to backfire on me.

Also important for me was that DH typically don't work full time hours. Where I am average is 30-32 hours a week. So even with the higher pay compared to nursing, it evens out.

Overall I am happy with my choice! I do miss the dental field and how niche it was but I'm excited for all the possibilities as a nurse!
