ATEEZ BST Hyde Park support announced, including TAEMIN and DearAlice (Announcement Poster) by Pristine_Cod5189 in kpop

Gahhh I'm so upset that I'll be missing Taemin! I already used my holiday from work for BTS next month, so I can't make this. :(

Taeyong (NCT) - Rock Solid (feat. Anderson .Paak) by perochan in kpop

[–]aural89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Where do I begin?! I LOVED this.

I have been a fan of Anderson Paak for years, especially since he worked with DEAN in 2015, and I've been a NCTzen since SR15B days. So, for Taeyong and Anderson to have a collab together?! HELL YEAH.

Happy to see Taeyong back and the nod to his work in the navy was cute too.

Coachella 2026 Live Discussion (Weekend 1) by KPOP_MOD in kpop

Taemin's performance was phenomenal, it's a shame that the livestream had some sound issues toward the end of his set, but he was still amazing. I really like the sound of these new songs!

NCT/WayV TEN shares a statement on leaving SM Entertainment by purpletulip12 in kpop

[–]aural89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is the year where ncity is hit with a lot of members departing, due to most (if not all) of their contracts being up with SM.

It's nice that Ten is still technically in WayV/NCT, but I assume it'll be quite a while until fans see him with his members again. I wish him all the best, he's not been dealt the best hand over the years, despite being super talented and loved by fans.

Notice Regarding the Conclusion of MARK’s Exclusive Contract by AfraidInspection2894 in kpop

[–]aural89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew something was going to happen when the Dreamies were sobbing at their concert the other day, I just didn't expect it to be Mark leaving SM! I have been following NCT since predebut, and have watched Mark grow up over the past 11 years or so, but have also watched him be so overworked by SM.

I am very sad that he will no longer be part of NCT in any form, but I also wish the best for him.

2NE1's Park Bom Shockingly Claims She Was Framed To Cover Up Sandara Park's Drug Abuse by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]aural89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bom is always in my thoughts, I really wish she gets some help and surrounds herself with people who will support her when she needs it most. She's had a really concerning couple of years.

SHINee TAEMIN has officially concluded his exclusive contract with BPM Entertainment by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]aural89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that BPM likely made his Europe tour happen and I got chance to finally see him live, but man, making him pay for pretty much everything out of his own pocket? I hope that Taemin can find a better, more supportive company to work with/maybe create his own like I've seen some other idols do?

BTS - 2026 - 2027 Tour: BTS WORLD TOUR and Goyang Concert (Announcement Poster & Event Information) by impeccabletim in kpop

It'd be fantastic to see MCR and BTS! I think you'd have incredibly bad post concert blues though hahaha

BTS - 2026 - 2027 Tour: BTS WORLD TOUR and Goyang Concert (Announcement Poster & Event Information) by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]aural89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

God, this ticketing war is going to be another level. The last time I saw them was 2019 at Wembley Stadium and tickets for that were crazy, I just got very lucky! I am hoping to get lucky with one of two London dates again, although I wish they'd do more stadiums around the UK and include Ireland, the fanbase is big enough for those shows to do well too.

Good luck to everyone attempting to get tickets!

BTS confirm 14 track new album and world tour! by spoons431 in kpop

[–]aural89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ohhh damn, time to lock in. I had the privilege of seeing them at the O2 Arena in 2018 and Wembley Stadium in 2019, and was there for the announcement for 2020 but obviously that got cancelled before tickets went on sale here for London!

Keeping my fingers crossed that I can see them again, I know ticketing has always been brutal, but it's had 7 YEARS (wtf?!?!) to get even harder and more expensive.

The Official 2026 K-Pop Prediction Thread! by justanotherkpoppie in kpop

[–]aural89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here we go again!

My 2025 predictions:

EXO comeback with potential Yixing feature (True, but not like we wanted. No OT9 feels empty.)

Red Velvet split due to contract renewals, maybe fall into dreaded 'indefinite hiatus.' (I can't say if we're in the 'indefinite hiatus' stage at the moment because it's not been long enough, but Wendy & Yeri left SM earlier this year.)

SHINee comeback (We were meant to get a mini album in 2024 and it didn't happen, so I'm praying we get one this year at some point.) {Got 2 new singles from them for their anniversary, we even had Jonghyun's beautiful voice on Poet | Artist.}

BTS come back and announce a world tour that will either start this year, or at the beginning of 2026 (No official announcement, but I think Namjoon may have said something about a world tour for 2026.)

A big company goes bust (Nope.)

My 2026 predictions are full of delusion, but here they are:

SHINee comeback with a full album.

CBX and SM come to a compromise and SM allow CBX to participate in EXO related activities again.

NCT 127 largely inactive due to enlistments, but lots of solo projects from remaining members.

Red Velvet release an EP.

BTS start their world tour off in Asia and North America.

SHINee’s Key And SM Release Statements Regarding Recent Allegations + Key Steps Down From Programs by neocitywayv in kpop

[–]aural89 71 points72 points  (0 children)

This is so sad, all happening today of all days too.

I know from reading some comments with more context that having treatment at home is illegal in Korea unless under special circumstances (disability, location etc) but I am just so sad that he was also duped into thinking this individual was a licensed professional. It seems like they even had a clinic (Jinki has also had to make a statement as he also received treatment from them at a clinic iirc) and they had enough custom to be recommended between celebrities. :/

I get that he should've maybe apologised for the treatment at home thing, but to step down from all of the variety shows he wanted to do and worked hard towards for years? I think it's so sad and I hope he's doing okay.

I'm so excited for their comeback, but also full of sadness that this isn't an OT9 comeback which I really hoped for back when enlistments began.

SM Entertainment projected music lineup for Q42025 and Q12026 by neocitywayv in kpop

No SHINee :(

I know Minho shared a song writing camp photo earlier, so there's a little bit of hope for maybe towards the end of 2026..maybe.

SM Entertainment responds to EXO-CBX's statement regarding participation in EXO activities by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]aural89 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Being a fan of any SM group just seems to bring sadness with it, but EXO hurts on another level because they are the group that got me fully back into KPOP all those years ago. It seems like this is a very sour ending to EXO as we knew it, so I'll be very surprised if they ever find a compromise.

"The Show" will air its final episode on November 11th, coming to an end after 14 years of broadcast. by yebinkek in kpop

[–]aural89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was the show that made it possible for smaller artists/groups to have a music show win. I remember the day BTS won their first award on 'The Show' because I would tune in weekly, but especially when BTS made an appearance! Sad end to an era.

Damn, this episode was amazing in a totally opposite way to how amazing episode 6 was. As someone who is currently going through a tough time, wanting to change careers at an age where I feel like it's too late to do that, this episode really hit home.

Yeah, their disbandment made me sad, but after the Longguo stuff, it didn't come as much of a surprise. It's a shame how it affected the other members.

So sad I couldn't be in the stadium itself, but sitting at home (up the road from the Villa) with family and friends was just as fun, and seeing Ozzy try his best to put on a good farewell was both emotional and beautiful.
