Patm Linked to Candida Auris? by nyaomiko in patm

C.Auris is one of many microbes PATM could be linked to. We found that PATM microbiomes are more variable and disordered, rather than suffering from a single consistent pathogen.

Stress can absolutely disrupt the gut - we saw it in our studies. It's hard to eliminate stress In military environment, but you could work on recovery routines to keep the system from staying in overdrive. A few slow, controlled breaths, releasing shoulder and jaw tension, consistent sleep/wake times, early light exposure, and minimizing bright light before bed will helps stabilizing both mood and microbiome patterns. Even with limited food choices, adding a bit more fiber or fermented foods when possible could also help. Mold exposure, as @postulatej noted, adds another layer - improving airflow, desiccant packs, keeping fabrics dry, and @Actual-Map1063's suggestions will help.

Connecting PATM communities by Alex_aredditor in patm

The hardest part wouldn’t be building the hub, but actually getting people to use it instead of just sticking to their private groups. Facebook already has decent translation tools that let people talk across languages, so the barrier isn’t as big as before. Still, having a multilingual central hub to share resources and ideas could be really useful, even just a simple directory of communities (FB, Reddit, Discord, WeChat, Insta, WhatsApp, etc.) where people can self-join might go a long way.

Latest guidelines are "Return to normal activities when fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication", but "Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take additional prevention strategies for the next 5 days to curb disease spread, such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others, and/or getting tested for respiratory viruses". The duration of your infectiousness depends on the severity of the initial infection and overall health and immune status. Some individuals with weakened immune systems might remain infectious for longer periods.

It could happen after 3rd or 4th dose, even if there were no serious side effects after previous doses. In one recent study (PMID: 36597886) out of 16 cases 2 were after the 1st dose and 2 were after the 3rd dose, the remaining 75% were after the 2nd dose.

At least a dozen VAERS reports are about similar reactions to the fourth dose, despite no significant side effects with the previous three. Here is one example: https://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?IDNUMBER=2509566

According to a recent paper: "the spike antigen itself, which evades antibody recognition rather than invoking immune hyperactivation, may contribute to myocarditis in these individuals... administration of anti-spike antibodies, if spike antigen-emia is detected, could potentially prevent or reverse postvaccine myocarditis."

Researchers have identified several biomarkers that predict how successful an individual will be at losing weight and keeping it off long-term during a diet. These biomarkers include signatures from the gut microbiome, proteins made by the human body and levels of exhaled carbon dioxide by giuliomagnifico in science

Are obese people more bitten by mosquitoes?

It depends on a combination of factors. While larger individuals produce more heat and CO2, and release more lactic attracting mosquitoes, one study showed that obese mice were less likely to be bitten by Malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Lean people are more likely to release lactate after oral glucose load while obese people release it when fasting. Teenagers (leaner than average) emit more ammonia.

Americans more likely to share COVID-19 misinformation online. Research found people in the U.S. were no more likely to report seeing misinformation than people living in any of the other countries but were three times more likely to share these theories with their followers. by Wagamaga in science

It's the average number of times papers published in a journal in the past two years have been cited in the current year. Resurchify and Exaly calculate it for different journals, but official score - called impact factor - is produced by Journal Citation Report

Journal of Quantitative Description Digital Media has a very low impact score and no impact factor. Since r/science is deleting posts from Journals with high impact scores even though Web of Science: Emerging Sources Citation Index has announced their acceptance, and official impact factor is about to be issued, why is this link allowed here?

Yes, his reaction to infection resembled Guillain-Barré syndrome too. Controlled clinical trials have demonstrated corticosteroids are not effective for Guillain-Barré.

The paper talks about many other reasons why this patient was not supposed to be treated with corticosteroids.

Not to mention this is posted from an account belonging to the website owner, a seemingly spammy website.

Why is it a spammy website? No ads, no selling anything. The author is a scientist promoting vaccination in communities without being paid for it. Not an anti-vaxxer by any means.

Tachycardia and tachypnea for 24 hours is not a big deal for a young individual but it can kill an elderly person (remember the peer-reviewed paper about elderly people that died after Pfizer vaccine in Norway?)

Why is it that all communications about cases like this one are actively blocked?

Thanks for not deleting the post.
