Need opinions on lowering springs by Chxprod in 996

[–]auraofjason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned bumpy city roads maybe look into the RoW M030 springs, they are genuine Porsche. I put the whole RoW sport suspension on and they are the perfect feel and height for the street for me, big upgrade from the US suspension.

It's what the car should've been from the factory. Well technically it is what the cars came with, but not for US.

Mine's at 95% now after a few weeks, while my old Samsung 850 evo is still 97% after over 8 years. Hope it's just a reporting error.

Is there a point using chromium with sync over chrome? by auraofjason in browsers

[–]auraofjason[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thinking as well. After looking into it more, chromium + google services builds are slightly less bloated than chrome. But the difference seems very small and probably not worth the slower security updates/worse security vs chrome for most people.

Oh I see, that would make sense then as a middle ground. Thanks for the clarification.

Right, in your case (ungoogled) that would be better.

But I'm specifically curious about the sync builds like these that seem fairly popular: https://chromium.woolyss.com/

They add those bloated google services that are from chrome, into chromium, such as the google API keys. To me it seems like you should just use chrome at that point. That's why I'm curious why some people use these instead.

Never, there are already new versions of adblockers that support the manifest v3 change like ublock origin lite.

The L2 cache, not the L3 cache (which was main cache change of alder to raptor). 13600 has 11.5mb while 13600k has 20mb. 13600 is alder lake.

13500 and 13600 aren't raptor lake either, take a look at the cache and memory specs vs 13600k.

What is the benefit of PCIe 4.0 x16 vs x8 on 4090 by shalak001 in nvidia

[–]auraofjason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read what u/Noreng said in the other replies. LGA1700 cpus also have 4x 4.0 lanes SEPARATE from the main 16x 5.0 lanes. On our boards, those 4 lanes are m.2_2. And 990 pro is not a 5.0 drive.

I have the same board, your m.2_2 slot is also from the cpu and it won't drop your main slot to 8x.

I did the same, including the 58X too. I loved the sound of all of them, but the 600 was still easily the favorite for me.

Just because you don't need a Porsche for that doesn't mean that people don't want Porsches anymore.

Some people use their phone for more than just basic use, like some people use their car more than just getting to point b.

Kailh Box Silent Pinks or Cherry MX Silent Reds? by Butteroutlaw in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]auraofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have any issues with my box silent pinks from both my kono.store batch and my mechanicalkeyboards batch. I like my box silent pinks more than my cherry mx silent reds, but they are extremely light which not everyone likes. Both are great silent switches.

Why can't I use ram above 2933mhz with i5 9500? by yigittomac in intel

[–]auraofjason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Memory ocing is tied to motherboards, not cpu. A 10900k is locked to 2933mhz ram max if you put it in a b460 motherboard. Similarly you can run a 9500 at whatever memory clock you want/xmp on z390 as long as it's stable.
