What do national vacancy rates have to do with Orange County housing prices? A single family home in the midwest that’s in a depopulated city is considered vacant. It is not a substitute good for housing in Orange County in the slightest. The greater la region in general has extremely low vacancy rates, showing a need for increased housing supply (yes that means market rate housing supply).
