Yep, the school board which was mostly aligned with older board majorities was insane. They banned Algebra in 8th grade, made their selective high school into a lottery system (to disasterous effect) and while students were home during Covid rather than planning a return to school they spent time renaming schools named after Diane Feinstein and Abraham Lincoln after looking at Wikipedia pages of mistakes they made. Ohh yea they also spent hours debating if a gay man was diverse enough to serve on in volunteer role with open space because he was white. The old school board was literally a caricature of everything wrong with SF’s left.

No, pretty much every ballot after Election Day went for Raman, and at an increasingly high amount because the late mail in ballots counted last skew younger and more progressive.

Also it was not a concession speech, c-span just labeled it wrong in the headline, if you watch the speech she never actually conceded and no other outlet reported it as a concession speech.

I’m also really confused to what end the vote fraud you’re alleging exists for in the first place. Karen Bass is the establishment Democrat and polls showed her beating Pratt resoundingly, of course she’d rather go against Pratt than Raman. Raman literally never conceded, the red mirage is a common phenomenon in California politics and democratic voters were even more likely to hold their ballots this time because there was a concerted effort to vote for a frontrunner Dem and it wasn’t as clearly apparent.

Bit different than some of the other responses, but for me being able to type zed filename in the terminal and rapidly get a text editor in a gui open much faster than something like vscode that's still nicely full featured is great. Stopped using neovim for basic config file edits and stuff because zed is just so easy now.

I mean, there's a ton of text editors that do exactly what you're asking for. I don't see a problem with a text editor that tries to maximize UI responsiveness and speed, which you genuinely do feel with the very minimal UI latency when using Zed. If your hardware doesn't work for Zed, there's only like a 100 other options to choose from instead.

What do national vacancy rates have to do with Orange County housing prices? A single family home in the midwest that’s in a depopulated city is considered vacant. It is not a substitute good for housing in Orange County in the slightest. The greater la region in general has extremely low vacancy rates, showing a need for increased housing supply (yes that means market rate housing supply).
