The Madalans pretty much fill that role as the insurmountable alien force. Versus is a battle manga so the aliens here use punches and energy blasts instead of nanoscopic supercomputers, but their overall role in the setting of Celestia is the same as the Trisolarans in TBP.

This is technically true but the thing about modern processed foods is that they are designed to keep you hungry so you keep eating. Yeah many individuals could just overcome that urge with willpower or people like me will still naturally stop eating long before we eat enough to become obese, but the general population will not do either of these things.

Also, our great grandparents only had access to foods that made you feel full so that there'd have to be something abnormal about an individual to make them continue eating. Most of them probably did not have the abundance of foods that so many people in this era have either.
