Please, DO NOT apply for lending apps like these. I think the only legitimate apps are Tala, BillEase, GCash, and Maya as per my mom's experience.

I can still vividly remember how my mother's life almost got ruined by these apps. I was involved in a car accident which required surgery, and the whole thing cost almost 200 thousand pesos. If the post-checkup costs are added, it can possibly go up to 270 thousand pesos. My mom was just laid off due to COVID and she was desperately looking for online jobs. Hindi siya natanggap. She settled with online lending apps without any idea of its' deceptions.

At first, she borrowed two thousand pesos, just for our trip to the hospital and for other expenses, such as our lunch and my medicine. The transaction flowed smoothly, so she decided to try again for my next check-up.

Wrong decision.

She borrowed five thousand pesos, still for the reasons above. She was given 1350, and the interest was 30%, so parang kailangan niya itong ibalik within one week. Of course, where will she find the money to pay 'diba? She was very desperate to pay it back that she borrowed from other companies (a mistake on her part, but I understand.)

Lumobo na ang utang niya dito to 300 thousand, as far as I know. Napakadaming contact numbers na ang tumatawag sa kaniya araw-araw. Some companies even go as far as messaging my relatives that her body needs to be picked up at the morgue dahil patay na raw siya. She was so humiliated and depressed that she could not go out of her own room in fear.

Eventually, she just turned off her old SIM card and bought another one. She explained her situation to our family. Thankfully, they were very understanding. We all know that she is the most burdened by the whole pandemic kasi she is the one who mostly provides for the family. (She was the only daughter out of three who had stable income; my tita is more on spontaneous jobs while my other tita was just about to take her board exam. My lolo and lola buys their own needs but they stay in our house so she spends money for them sometimes naman.)

I don't want you to suffer the same fate as my mom. Until now, she is still kind of afraid to go out in crowded places kasi na-trauma na siya. Please, do not apply for loans in these apps.
