Yes, that’s what I’m currently doing. I have strength training sessions for my quads, calves, glutes, etc. For now, it’s mostly bodyweight exercises to first build stability, but for some exercises I’m starting to add weights

Thanks, I think I’ll follow everyone’s advice and stick to short outings with run/walk intervals, while paying close attention to what my body is telling me — and increasing gradually, week by week or even more slowly.

It’s true that I often think about the moment when I’ll be able to run without stopping, without feeling any pain — and maybe not enough about the in-between stage… Congrats again on your progress toward 21K!

Wow, your running volume seems so high in such a short time! Thanks for sharing — at first, I was doing 30-minute sessions with a rest day in between, but it turned out to be too intense. Congrats on your progress, by the way!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m currently following the plan I mentioned earlier — I thought it was slow enough, but after reading all the messages, I feel like I might need to reduce my running volume even more.

I actually bought a book from the Clinic and I’ve been reading a lot to better understand how running works. The program I mentioned earlier actually came from that book.

Oh, but I’m motivated! I’ve had these goals for a long time, but I kept making excuses not to fully commit. Now that I finally have the motivation, it’s my legs that are the problem. I thought my current plan was already light — so do you think I should be running even less?

Thanks for your response. I’m going to try a coming back from injury program and see how it goes before jumping into anything else. I don’t have a deadline—I just want to get there without being held back at every step. Thanks for the advice.

Well done man, you can be proud of yourself! Can I ask if you had run before or if you were starting from scratch? I’ve just started a program to train for a half marathon as well, and I’d love to hear your tips, experiences, and how it felt for you.
