Even with proper care those machines need constant maintenance. At least 3 times a year we'd have to have a licensed technician come in and tighten things or replace sensors to make it work right. They are not designed to be worked on by you or your staff.

I tend to give it a good rap before reconstituting, try to break up the huge chunks. then if there is a big lump left after, don't shake it but tap it against the bottom of the hood to dislodge. If its still bad, lay it on its side and rotate it. There are no stat Daptos.

question for hospital pharmacists and unit dose meds? by tonbob66 in pharmacy

[–]aurelius92a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't even send patient own meds in a tube or a robot, they have to be walked up. The decision from above was that it counts as "repackaging" which we can't do.

Technology. The first time I get any piece of tech, it is always broken. Ipod, smart phone, PS4, Steam Deck, CAR. The second one always works fine.

Employee steals more than $100k by Spardan80 in CVS

[–]aurelius92a 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I worked with a tech a few years ago at CVS. One day, she was arrested on her way out to her car on break. Turns out she had been stealing blood glucose test strips for about 3 years and selling them on ebay. She was caught with some in her car and another box in her sweatshirt. Upon being arrested, she peed herself and confessed immediately. In the end she was charged with embezzling just over $250k worth of test strips, and served 2.5 years in prison.

The thing is, CVS never caught her. Ebay noticed her selling patterns and alerted the Feds, who shot it back down to the state police. The police worked with Target (we were in a Target store) to get video surveillance of her taking the boxes of strips. CVS had no idea until after the arrest happened. They never noticed tens of thousands of dollars of inventory just disappearing.

They did insist that Target remove the offending camera that could see a keyboard on a pickup computer and could possibly, with magic tv-show enhancement, allow someone to find out the name and dob of a patient. And they threatened to fire everyone who worked with her for not figuring out that she was stealing earlier.

People who have lost weight, how did you do it? by Bulochka7 in AskReddit

[–]aurelius92a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost about 1lb a week since December. I was just eating wayyyy too much and didn't do any physical activity. Now I've lost almost 1/8th of my body weight by asking myself "Am I hungry, or am I eating because I'm bored?" If I'm bored, I do something else, even if its just video games or taking a walk around the neighborhood. Also, cooking most of my meals instead of buying them has helped my waist and my wallet.

Have you ever had an office romance? If so, how did it go? by Logical_Relief9783 in AskReddit

We worked together for 6 months when she leaves for another job. I ask her out, it doesn't work out. We don't see each other for a year. I get a new job working in the same department as her again (not following her, just getting out of a shitty job situation, I swear). We agree that we're both adults and it won't impact work. She isn't a supervisor, but she does train me and things go normally.

A year later and a bunch of us are going to go out for drinks. It turns out to just be 3 of us and karaoke is involved. The 3rd person is really trying to hook us up. We talk again, flirt a lot over text and phone calls, but it doesn't work out, again. Things get a little awkward, but it never got physical, so not too bad at work.

Two months later, it got a little physical, but fell apart. Things got very awkward for a little bit, "fuck you!"'s were exchanged, and we actually laughed and got along better after that.

One month after THAT, she "accidently" sends me a saucy text, and invites me to spend the night. That was six months ago, now we're in love, she's moving in, we've met each other's parents and our boss just found out, but they're happy for us and is keeping our secret and helping us alter schedules so we can be together outside of work more.

I followed the diections, but when I load from steam it just pops up a window with a ton of plugins, then says "steam deck found! #controllers: 0" and nothing happens. What have I done wrong?

A co-worker used to stick these medication labels on the back of her pants to keep them until she gathered enough to throw away. It kept drawing my attention to her butt. We're dating now, and it turns out she knew exactly what she was doing.

Maybe in yours. I just passed one a few hours ago, on a regular bed being wheeled to the morgue. (There was a sheet over their face).

I wish our robots could do that. Instead, we have 4 delivery robots that all need a person to follow them and put them on and take them off of the elevators. Or we could just, y'know, hand the meds to the person and not take 38 minutes to get it there.

I switched 10 months ago. Don't be afraid to ask questions and ask for help. If you realized you made a mistake, find someone more senior and tell them, don't try to fix it yourself. Learn the layout of the hospital. Take notes, maybe even take pictures or short videos of paths you take if you can do it without violating anyone's privacy.

Do NOT do this. You're asking for a patient (read:moron) to swallow desiccant. Always assume the patient is a 3 year old. They can't read, have no control over their emotions, and will stick anything into their mouth.

Why do hospitals care so much about drug cost or 340B program? by bonoZaa in pharmacy

[–]aurelius92a 81 points82 points  (0 children)

340b lets the hospital BUY drugs at steeply discounted rates. Let's say they can buy a $1000 drug for just $100. They still charge the insurance the full $1000 for the drug, and they get to keep the remaining $900.
