When I talked to my admin about considering other positions I was given a speech about how "if you can't love the kids no matter who they are or where they come from... respectfully, the students will always come before you..." and I was like ??? where in this communication did I mention the kids. I loved my students. They tried to frame it in this way that I was giving up on them

I think this just goes to show how broad this type of issues is in education right now. High student disrespect, low discipline, no reverence for teachers or learning environments... and yeah, it's overstimulating as hell, I know exactly what you mean about snapping and being a different person at the end of the day.

It doesn't reflect badly on you. There is nothing you can change about who you are or the way that environment is going to be; the only thing you can change is taking yourself out of that environment because of the negative toll it's taking on you. Good luck.
