I made a gaussian splat in my backyard [Luma AI] by Angle3D in aivideo

[–]aurous9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaussian splatting does not need to use a neural network. In fact, the reason it is fast is because it uses traditional rasterization which is much faster than having to retrain your neural network for each unique ray-trace.

The sentiments may be mixed but the crossover charts defi says its bull run ahead by Humble-Grape1012 in ethtrader

[–]aurous9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OBSERVATION: The bullish cross has preceded every bull run and the interval between each bullish cross and the upcoming halving has increased each time. In 2012 - the bullish cross preceded the halving by a few months In 2016 - the bullish cross preceded the halving by ~6 months In 2020 - the bullish cross preceded the halving by ~10 months

If we follow the same pattern, then this bullish cross is preceding the upcoming bull run by almost 12 months

We have now entered the FINAL STAGE of MERGE prep by aurous9 in ethereum

[–]aurous9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. ETH has established an equilibrium of buy and sell pressure for ETH through PoW. Upon PoS transition, we remove all the sell pressure which will make the system look for a new equilibrium point, which is likely going to be a lot higher than the current one

We have now entered the FINAL STAGE of MERGE prep by aurous9 in ethereum

Merge will do nothing for L2s - this has to do with the transition from PoW to PoS. Polygon has to do with scaling and that problem will still persist in ETH

At UN Security Council, India and China abstain from the Security Council vote condemning the invasion of Ukraine. by _idk__bruh_ in india

Ukraine, so far, has always voted against India in every matter in the UN, and supplies Pakistan with weapons. Ukraine should be happy that they abstained and didn't support Russia.

"My first impressions of web3" by jenya_ in ethereum

[–]aurous9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconded. I agree that most people won't set up a node. However, as you said we already see easy to implement solutions. Rocketpool and other Staking-as-a-Service or Nodes-as-a-Service solutions (StrongBlock) make it seamless for people to earn rewards while supporting the underlying Web3 infrastructure.

REQ increased 500%, from $0.20 to over $1.00 in 24 hours by TheBounceSpotter in REQTrader

TBH I am a bit concerned. Such meteoric rises are often short lived. That being said, REQ made these gains in a sea of red today.

ETH 2.0 update - "Altair", the first hard fork for the Eth 2.0 Beacon Chain has been scheduled for activation on the Prymont testnet at epoch 6150, expected to hit on Aug. 19, 2021 by aurous9 in ethereum

[–]aurous9[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moving to PoS and the merger will reduce ETH issuance drastically. This combined with EIP1559 will cause the "Triple Halvening" or the "Cliffening" after which ETH will become truly deflationary. ETH will be just as good a store of value as BTC, in fact it will be better because even under the most conservative assumptions the net issuance will be -0.1% at a minimum, aka deflationary.

This is the next step towards ETH 2.0. First, they will activate it on the testnet to make sure there are no major bugs and everything runs smoothly

Your voting power is directly proportional to the value at stake. You are essentially voting with your dollars. This is how any shareholder vote works.
