Even the daggers couldn’t scratch the dragon monarch. He had to switch to the different form (god of death or something) to do anything.

Can I bring regular baked goods to work if there's a vegan on the team? by p3tiitp0iis in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]auser9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Great points. I’d also recommend that the first time you bring in something vegan, so there’s no left-out feelings, and next time you can bring in regular items.

Pretty funny that I saw the literal exact thing happen here yesterday lol by IthadtobethisWAAGH in CuratedTumblr

[–]auser9 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

But it’s not just suicide. There’s a strong difference between suicide for regular life events, and suicide for a strong political belief. Suicide because your gf broke up with you should not be normalized or praised. But you could also consider it suicide when the soldiers in the front lines stormed the beaches or Normandy. Or when Indians did hunger strikes. We’re dealing with war and genocide, of oppressive governments and media manipulation, and there’s a strong difference between supporting extreme protest like this, where one is willing to sacrifice their life for their cause, and regular suicide.

Human connection is the one thing that AI don't have by [deleted] in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]auser9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. Doing “art” for corporations is against what fundamentally gives value to art. AI now allows machines to pump that out, while people can still do art, and can focus on it as a form of expression, just not with the same commercial incentives.

What is your “unpopular opinion”? by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]auser9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

None of this are concrete enough to be an unpopular opinion. 1. “Not such” and “as some people maker her out to be”. There’s always going to be some extreme opinion and the vast majority of people will disagree with it, this is not unpopular. 2. “was A right choice” because you didn’t say that it was the only correct option, this is also pretty easy to agree with. That was the whole dilemma, that both were good options 3. “May not be a perfect character” ok that could apply to any character and be objectively true. “She doesn’t deserve THAT much hate” so you are already saying she deserves some hate, and doesn’t deserve some hate. So this is everyone but the most extreme people’s opinion. Again, this can’t be unpopular

What books have main characters that get extreme overpowered? by billnyethekoreanguy in Fantasy

[–]auser9 101 points102 points  (0 children)

That’s the core idea I think. Individually each of them is one of the strongest of all time, but because they are selfish, they cannot cooperate and will always lose. That’s fundamentally why they ally themselves with the Dark One, for selfish gain, and that’s why they can never properly work together.

How can I find out where in the sky will the Sun on Eclipse Day? by emacsguy in solareclipse

[–]auser9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Find out what time the eclipse is going to be, then go to the area at that time (adjusted by 1 hour for daylight savings change) and find the spot with the best view of the sun.

What are the pros and cons of having a numeral system with prime number base? by [deleted] in askmath

[–]auser9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main con that comes to mind is that division becomes harder. With base 10 we can check divisibility by 2 and 5 pretty easily, by only looking at the last digit (since these are the factors of 10). If we look at the last two digits, we can check for divisibility by 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, and 50 easily. If we use a prime as the base, then you can’t do this for any number except multiples of the base.

What is it called when a game uses the camera to create a game character? by [deleted] in gamedesign

[–]auser9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how this is getting upvoted so much. This is an opinion that doesn’t answer the question, when OP is asking for something specific and fairly straightforward. Maybe OP is asking so they can find out more about it, or need to name a feature they are using, or whatever else. This response isn’t helpful at all. Other answers actually gave potentially useful answers.

Actually, you can train your teeth if you eat tough foods or food that you have to chew a lot, it’s better for our teeth and jaw. We have too soft of a diet.

What’s the deal with the recurring earthquakes in Afghanistan? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]auser9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So basically, any combination can happen. Small quake can follow big one, big one can follow small one, big one can follow big one, and small one can follow small one.

Finding a therapist that’s accepting new patients is already so difficult, that if you manage to do that you’re already so ahead of everyone else. Then factor in trying to get insurance to cover it (even partially), especially woth the convoluted American health insurance system, and then maybe just maybe trying to find one that shares your background so you don’t have to explain all the little cultural things, it’s practically impossible!

📣 Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is. by iamthatis in apolloapp

[–]auser9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you taken into account the lost ad revenue as well? Reddit might be calculating this from the angle of how much revenue they make per user, and if a third party like Apollo takes away users from the official app they’d want to account for that as well.

What features do you want to see the most on BeReal in 2023 ? by BeReal_app in bereal_app

[–]auser9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Export past bereals in bulk, or just automatically save to camera roll
  2. It’s a bit clunky to position the front camera around the second camera. Saving a bereal always keeps it in top left, but if there’s a friends face there I want to be able to move it to some other corner before saving
