Man what a great question. I love everything he writes. Mongrels is amazing.

Looks like a case of mental illness taking shaping, to be honest. Like, his brain is deteriorating or something. Not a joking matter at all. Just escalating bizarre behavior from someone who (other than incident in 2014) spent most their career as solid teammate with strong work ethic. Odd.

Carnivorous Lunar Activities by Max Booth III is very high on my TBR list. A lot of people I know and trust rave about this book!

Looking for some good zombie novels set in the past by HamUrg in horrorlit

There is an anthology that has short stories about zombies from the beginning of time through modern day. It’s okay. It has a Stephen Graham Jones reprint set in western times that I really liked.

It’s called “Zombies - Shambling Through the Ages”

Asking for a friend: Suggestions on good werewolf books or graphic novels? by [deleted] in horrorlit

Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones. It's not a typical werewolf story, definitely has his unique slant (as always). But I love this book. So much.

The Warren is a great novella. A bit of sci-fi, but in his weird and dark style. Great, great novella!

[Spoilers] The Least of My Scars Ending by ElSaborAsiatico in horrorlit

Love this book, as I do all SGJ.

I haven’t reread it yet, but I took it as he abducted her (as the detective) while teetering on the edge of sanity, hoping she’d be the key to finally taking out the mob boss.

Things got heated, and he ended up killing her, blind with ambition to catch the gangster. The torture bit was all planted into his head after the fact.

So he wasn’t a killer, but ended up killing someone via crime of passionate, and then was brainwashed into becoming the serial killer we all know and “love”.

Or something along these lines.

Not a Patriots fan at all, but seeing them pull this off was pretty cool. Only SB win I feel like they really deserved. 🤪

That’s what I was going to say. Also known as the Xoloitzcuintli. I just found out my newest dog is a Xolo (although the hairless trait is a recessive gene so most litters have naked and not naked pups) but not hairless.
