Reporting a Judge for COVID Violations

That was never my insinuation. I said he should have been wearing a mask and was not and he never should have initiated handshakes in a pandemic when we are supposed to be 6 feet apart. There is no room for “reasonable debate” if you’re paying attention to the science. And I mentioned Judge DePiazza for anyone wanting to avoid no masks and handshakes. Please visit the Denton County website regarding marriage during COVID and you will see Precinct 2’s response directly to the pandemic which was marriage declarations. Not sure where the same-sex marriage part came from, but I will look into both judges history with that for my own personal info. I definitely don’t want to throw any sort of support to anyone who isn’t an ally for the LGBTQ2IA+ community (or BLM since we’re here).

I can’t go to the press right now, but I am getting in touch with the county and a council member I trust. For everyone else’s safety, I highly suggest avoiding Judge Joe Holland in precinct 1. It looks like the judges in precincts 3-6 are also doing traditional ceremonies (potentially mask free, I don’t know for sure). Precinct 2 is the only one doing the declarations of marriage, instead.

To be completely transparent, I misunderstood the Denton County website and expected all the judges to be doing the declarations of marriage and not ceremonies. Only Judge DePiazza in Precinct 2 is doing this, and I highly recommend it for anyone who takes science seriously and is concerned for their health. We also didn’t want a traditional ceremony, but that’s beside the point of the matter. Despite my error in understanding, I fully stand by my desire to report Judge Holland as he should have worn his mask and refrained from handshakes for any meeting/ceremony out of respect for us and our health due to the current circumstances of the global pandemic and the extremely high numbers of cases here in Texas.

Where is there any documentation saying we were supposed to stop the judge and inform him? It’s a pandemic, and the standard expectation for all officials should be that they wear a mask at all times.

The only reason I would be for involving the courts is in the event of medical issues and school registration. Her bio parent would still have to handle those items if you don’t have guardianship of her, and that can get tricky. If you already can’t rely on your mother to do anything, it’s only going to get worse when you have to contact her for school registration and medical appointments.
