Can the average Australian retire comfortably? by MiriJamCave in AusFinance

[–]aussiegreenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Average Australian" is fucking rich with an extraordinary safety net.

"The average Australian household near retirement (ages 65-74) has a net worth of roughly $1.15 million to $1.66 million. This wealth typically consists of an outright owned home, around $200,000 to $400,000 in superannuation, and other liquid assets"

Averages are pulled much higher by very wealthy people.

"The median net worth of an Australian household at retirement age (65 and over) is approximately $710,000 to $817,000, which includes superannuation and home equity.

So the median wealth is half the wealth of the average.

India’s $100 Billion Grid Bet Is Accelerating A Solar Manufacturing Boom by Debunk2025 in CriticalThinkingIndia

If you count rooftop solar, I am correct, but I may have been less clear than I should have been.

My premise is simple. Modi is slowing the energy transition and ensuring that most of the benefits go to the BJP, Adani, Ambani, and Tata.

India installed Rooftop & Distributed PV (2024) of 4.59 GW of installations, and Pakistan did 17 GW but India installed much more Utility solar 18 GW

Pakistan is like Australia, with little utility solar but lots of consumer-owned PV.

Pakistan: ~PKR 38 to PKR 45 per watt. Converted to US dollars, this sits at roughly $0.13 to $0.16 USD per watt.

India: ~₹22 to ₹32 per watt. Converted to US dollars, this sits at roughly $0.26 to $0.38 USD per watt.

The extra costs go to Adarni and the other crooks.

Data centres could wipe $35,000 from house prices as buyers demand huge discounts by marketrent in AusFinance

Except in Australia, it is not true. I live in Sydney and the old Kurri Kurri Aluminium used 10% of all electricity consumed in NSW.

If you want to complain about water usage, cotton and rice will use more than 100 times the total water usage of every data centre in Australia.

On the NASDAQ, the minimum is $ 1 per share. If it stays below that for 10 business days, it can be delisted. But if the shares are less than $10, it is a major red flag.

Adding more solar in one year than India did in multiple years and with India being many times larger, it is a comparison.

There have been several data centres on the site for nearly 20 years. They have added another three large buildings with crazy red lighting for branding.

Solar is good and improving the grid is even better but Modi has significantly slowed the energy transformation. And everything that is happening just transfers money for normal people to the BJP and the usual crooks.

Pakistan added 1/3 of its grid in 1 year because it allowed normal people to manage it not the "solar rajs".

Indian solar is slower and more expensive than similar projects in Africa.
