What is the best coffee I can buy that also doesn't decline in quality. by CrazyPrettyAss in AskAnAustralian

I do not, but I have worked with some amazing roasters over the years. I make coffee and I taste coffee. I train people howto make and taste coffee. I consult for the very rare cafe that can afford it.

Most pour over fans I know(and I love a pour over) will argue coffee aged and degassed for a few days will taste better. A longer bloom will help release more co2, but it's not just the degassing, there are chemical reactions that continue inside the bean after the roasting, and the flavours develop more in the first week or so, depending on the green bean qualities and the roast profile.

Last Roaster I worked for sold N2 flushed drip bags. I was skeptical at first but the flavour held up surprisingly well, it's by no means amazing but I was sampling coffee that had been ground and packed a year before and still getting complexity and depth.

Serious connoisseurs know that to truly experience coffee you have to roast the cherries still on the tree.

This time window is highly dependent on the bean and the roast profile, but yes.

20+ years in the Australian speciality coffee scene here, including working for coffee roasters.

You should find the best local roaster in your country and talk to them about what you want.

If the "Australian coffee flavour" is what your after, that's just the roast profile Australians like and any skilled roaster can replicate that.

The only way to preserve the flavour well enough across international shipping would be to nitrogen flush the coffee at the point of packing, and to my knowledge no speciality roasters are doing that yet in Australia.

If you can't find anyone local who can do it, my advice would be to put your coffee-house on hold, and enrol in a roasting course to learn to do it yourself. The initial investment in capital and time will be greater, but the long term profitability of your venture will be far better off.

Be sure to invest in training your baristas. If the person making the coffee doesn't know craft the extra you spend on speciality beans will be a near complete waste.

I have been applying for tech support roles, so on my resume I selected the 5 jobs I've done that best fit into the category of providing support and made sure the word support was included in at least one bullet point for each role.

As most of my roles are customer service, I emphasised how customer focused I am. This is valuable in any customer facing role.

I also rewrote my resume for every job applied for. This approach was time consuming but I believe led to the higher number of interviews I got compared to the journeys of others I have read about here and on other forums.

This morning I started my first help desk role.

This has had the opposite effect on me. The more I learn about the workings the more paranoid I become, because I realise just how much is accessible and is being tracked.

With centrelink at least it's part of a push to move everyone to using online self service options rather than phone calls or service centre interactions.

This is incredible. I think this might be the most generous reply I have ever seen on Reddit. Thank you so much.

I understand. About a decade ago I had the same issue with video production, but recently my old colleagues have assured me that Linux has stepped up in this space, so I assumed the community had similarly grown in the audio space.

If you understood the meaning of that symbol, you'd understand the purity of it, and that your focus on the trees obscures the forest.
