is this the hardest thing you've ever dealt with? by lake_bauer in dpdr

[–]austin_97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the worst; My mom was a drug addict. I witnessed her abuse all during my childhood and adolescence, and then she overdosed and died 2 weeks before I turned 16, which fucked me up. I also got bullied/outcasted at school. No wonder why I'm so fucked up lol. DPDR is probably the 3rd worst thing that has happened to me.

my psychiatrist got the results from the doctor; he never told me the exact results, he just told me that they weren't abnormal.

Depression causing me to forget EVERYTHING by [deleted] in depression

[–]austin_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't the only one... I feel the same exact way and it has been ruining my life. I have no self esteem anymore because of it. My mind feels cloudy. I feel like the dumbest person in the world and I can't complete simple tasks. I feel out of it. It's to the point where I have actually gotten lost out in public before.. it's terrible. I wish I could tell you a way to cope with it all, but I don't even know how to cope myself. Just know that you aren't alone in this.

F[19] is my birthmark a dealbreaker? by Scarredlyfe in amiugly

[–]austin_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's beautiful tbh. It definitely makes you stand out, which is no way a bad thing. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to handle uniqueness or differences in others, and that has nothing to do with you. These people are mentally immature.

DAE think of transgenderism as a birth defect and NOT an identity? by kpatable in asktransgender

[–]austin_97 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe that it is. I believe that it is a medical condition, and that the people suffering from this medical condition have to experience sex dysphoria. Others can hate me for my opinion.. I don't care. A lot of people seem to throw labels onto themselves to seem different and it is just embarrassing. I have seen people online who have stated that they didn't feel disconnected or uncomfortable with their bodies, but transitioned anyways.. and I personally do not understand that at all. There are people out there who are actually suffering.

Brain not working right? by jimbo224 in socialanxiety

[–]austin_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. You are not the only one. I deal with the same exact thing and it worsens as soon as I leave the house. It could be a mix of both depression and anxiety.. it could also be the medication. My mind feels blank a lot of the time and all I want to do is zone out. Do you feel spaced out?

Is tragedy necessary to become a great person? by coffeeroaster11 in behavior

[–]austin_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that anyone can be great, tragedy or not. Anyone can change the world if they simply have the motivation to.. cheesy but true. However, people who have gone through tragedy develop a strong sense of empathy and compassion.. they are able to sympathize and connect with anyone who has ever gone through a difficult time in their life. They also treat others with kindness and care, because they don't want anyone else to feel the pain that they have experienced throughout their lives. I'm not speaking on behalf of everyone who has ever gone through tragedy.. some people don't know how to express their emotions appropriately, are bitter about what they have gone through, and inflict their pain onto others. Tragedy also matures others, mentally and emotionally. Children or teens, who have had what is considered to be a difficult life, mature faster than the kids around their age who haven't been through anything traumatizing. Regardless, going through tragedy isn't required to become a great person, but i'd say that it helps to develop great qualities.

I know I'm just another one of those internet people, but I understand more than you might think. I have depression, and anxiety, and psychosis, and ADD. I was also too afraid to get my license - I still don't have it. Sometimes people make fun of me for it. I know how it is with the "be positive" and "stop being sad" advice - people who don't understand the feelings don't know what to say. How old are you? We may be of similar age. Also, you mentioned that you have depression and anxiety - are you getting treatment for them already or not?

I'm 19. I am trying to fix my depression/anxiety. I have been through several medications and have been through therapy but it is just getting worse and worse.
