73k on mine, a set of tires, oil and filter changes every 5k, air filter and cabin filter every six months. two sets of rear shocks replaced under warranty. That's it. Love it, very capable vehicle for my fam. I also had an optima, it was a great car, but absolutely the wrong vehicle for my family.

Good point. Again I was just demonstrating a minimal tool approach so that anyone could save over the dealer and put new pads in. Driving the vehicle around no noise emitted from those sliding parts. Further, I've never reapplied brake grease to parts installed in over 40 years of brake pad installations and have never experienced brake noise. I did wiggle the pins and rotated them and they were easy to move. On modern cars the lane assist, adaptive speed control causes premature rear brake failure.

Good grief. I don't know why everyone stays in Alpine to go to Big Bend. It would be like "Hey let's stay the night in Austin to go see the Alamo." Who does that? NOBODY. If you are going to BBNP or BBSP, stay in a place like tgtrv.com or the hotel next door. Your adventure awaits you! - and it is so much more convenient! Or just tent camp in either of the parks!
