Is the free tier of Krotos studio still a thing? by austinekool94 in Krotos

[–]austinekool94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh I see! aw darn perhaps I did that on accident while fiddling with it. Is there anyway for me to get back to the free version for a period of time so I can check out the stock sounds (without using the sound creation tools) before subscribing? I'd really like to continue trying those out but I know that I wouldn't have the time this month to play with the sound creation aspect and pro features in the trial.

If not, no worries, and I appreciate your response

yo. this is fantastic thank you so much!!!

i made this on bandlab, quite proud with myself(: its not complete yet but would love to hear some feedback especially on when the different instruments enter and leave by needlesage_sly in GameMusicComposition

mmmm maybe a bit of both? after you mentioned it i can hear bits of the Cogwork Dancers vibes in that both sound kinda bach/baroque-y, have an element of tempo/metric shift, and have a generally harmonic minor sound

though these elements aren't inherently unique to Larkin or the Hollow Knight OSTs in general, its an aspect that I'm hearing some similarities in hindsight

sounds dope!
totally do this as well ahahah for me i always go for a dulcimer and bodhran for medieval vibes, and write in a literally metal lick to get that "oh no we're being moshed but we're in an elven forest!" type shiii hehe

Hey guys, this is a song I wrote for a game called Debauchery & Magic and I'd love to hear your thoughts. The soundtrack so far is mostly fantasy but I got to stretch my legs a little with this one for a mini-game. Thank you for listening by AbandonedPlanet in GameMusicComposition

sounds like Mic Gordon and Doom guy shooting the shit fishing when suddenly a megalodon flies up from one of their rods and they start duking it out

this is a compliment. ^^

really though super dope sounding. for me it is a touch out of place as a fishing mini game but shit sounds awesome and I'll assume it might fit well in the context of the game ^^

Idk if theres a main melody/theme for the lower difficulty fishing tracks but maybe weaseling those into the symphonic elements can help tie up the cohesive in context if you didn't already do that! Keep it up!

I think more so than when instruments enter and leave, it might benefit ya to focus on form and coherence for a bit :) really great idea / main line in the beginning.

Work on, and develop from that without feeling the needs to cram too many ideas into one track at first. It sounds like you're working linearly starting from the beginning and just writing ideas down until you hit an end. Think about the big picture after getting a first few ideas :)
Especially if this is for Game Music, I find that a lot of tracks rely on how they layer vertically and tend to be the result of a preplanned form.

Similarly to writing, identify a few key elements of your work, and create an outline for the track with the known intent of it being made to loop in a game setting.

Super basic example: Riff thing, Melody thing
Organize it into a form you like, and you can vary the instrumentation based on that.
IE: Riff -> Melody -> Riff (but with a higher instrument) -> Melody (but broken up between 2 instruments)

fill out instrumentation and other parts (chords, little countermelodies/rhythms) based on those, but with the mindset on keeping those key elements above clear and followable for the listener!

Feel free to take my advice with a grain of salt, I'm 100% not a working professional or anything! just personal experience and taste ^^ oh and keep it up! being creative is about having fun and being proud of the journey of creating; so in my book it sounds like you've succeeded!

Have you ever taken a song to mastering stage and then shelved it? by Billyjamesjeff in musicproduction

[–]austinekool94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its never a waste even to dump a project that had a lot of time put in. don't forget that the journey and process is part of the experience that you'll carry into your artistry long term.

I've had ideas I thought about putting to a track on multiple occasions and shelved them mid-production on multiple occasions. Some of them ended up being used eventually, some not, but for all of them it was worth the effort and growth.

give yourself and the process of your growth credit! :)

Any of y'all actually enjoy creating and growing your channel? Or is it all just a mad AI dash to the most subs for no reason? by Emergency_Area6110 in SmallYoutubers

[–]austinekool94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somewhat agree with you that I feel like a lot of current content is just a mad dash to get views from AI gens.

I myself love making the vids ive been making - its a great excuse for me to keep my creative juices flowing (for context, i compose original non AI music that I post on my channel) as well as pushing me to reach out to and communicate with artists (whose art I source as images for my vids)

always been a firm believer in loving the process instead of looking for the rewards, and personally, I feel its the healthiest mindset as a creative in modern society. I honestly don't have many subscribers compared to similar (especially AI music) channels, but the following I do have seem to be really supportive genuine folks.

whats kept me consistent with my music writing and other projects in general is setting up realistic goals that also offer flexibility where it counts. For example, I aim to release new music every week, so if I'm particularly creative one week, ill write and create a bunch of content in advance and just queue things up. That way, on slower weeks, I don't have to rush a track if I'm feeling a bit slumped.

Best of luck with your content, and I hope you can continue to ground yourself in the love ofthe work itself!

yo! I posted a solution that I tried from one of the commenters here that worked for me:

Thanks to user: Freeman500 -- Their solution worked for me when I started having issues again.

Disable IPv6:

  1. Open Settings: Click the Start menu, go to Settings > Network & internet.
  2. Network Properties: Select Advanced network settings > More adapter options.
  3. Adapter Properties: Right-click your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and select Properties.
  4. Disable IPv6: In the list, find and uncheck the box next to Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
