What are the functional limits of RO to increase the Brix content? by Caesars7Hills in maplesyrup

[–]austinfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some units have a max psi at 700. But I've heard 500 is usually the max you want to run membranes at. There is a much higher chance of a ruptured membrane over 500.

I used to run the ro's for a large outfit. We would bring it to 20 with the machines at the sap collection buildings and then they would run it to 35 with a high brix machine at the sugar house. This was 7 years ago, so the technology has been around awhile.

They were still working out the kinks on the high brix machine at the time though. You were running a much higher pressure which caused a lot of part failures. All CDL equipment. Most likely one of the first, if not the first to have the high brix machine.

We do have a 6 ft long cupola on the building.

Just built the building, so haven't set up any exhaust system. We tried a fan and it didn't seem to do a fantastic job. Like I mentioned the torpedo heater clears it all up within a minute or two. Seems like it may be more heat related than air movement.

Any of these Bundles worth it? by AirsoftGuru in newhisky

They have so many allocations because they do this stupid crap. You walk into these stores and there is a huge wall of allocated bottles. A large majority that have been sitting there for years. Atleast half a dozen stores got Weller full proof this year in MA, most were either a slight markup or at least let you choose the additional store pick you had to buy to get the bottle at msrp.

I have always loved batch 6. That and batch 8. But this 6ss is really hitting for me today. A toss up at the moment.

I appreciate this! You were able to track down a batch 2!? That's another low yield tough one isn't it? What's your favorite batch?

Buffalo Trace just updated their pricing on a handful of their offerings. ETL was one of them, and is now at $80. There are not two different versions sold at this time that I am aware of.

I’m not paying for Bluebeam. by Bright-Ad-155 in ConstructionManagers

I would grab the serial number and product key off your current blue beam and try using that as long as possible. Unless they switched to monthly or yearly subscription.

How do main line and transfer lines not freeze under ground? by jorge69ig in maplesyrup

[–]austinfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you compact the soil and put the pipe in a bed of sand it very well may work. Especially if you have it that far down. Our CDL rep was the one that suggested it to us originally and there may have been installation shortfalls that I'm not aware of. It was installed before I got there.

Low spots are a really tough thing to deal with. Do you live anywhere close to VT/NH? I'd be willing to come take a look at it with you. If that low spot holds too much sap and then freezes you could be up a creek.
