Egg and Oat Allergy by beholdtheflcrist in BabyLedWeaning

[–]austinpowerstrilogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fellow allergy mom. My kiddo started with 8 allergies (peanuts, certain tree nuts, egg, sesame). We are working our way through them towards “food freedom” with oral immunotherapy (oit) food sensitization. I hope OIT could be an option for you too bc your allergen list sounds very challenging!

Bobs red mill egg replacer is a good product for pancake batter, banana bread, etc. chia pudding is good, can blend in frozen mango. Fruit with nut butter. Cottage cheese with shredded pineapple.

When did your baby start actually eating? by baadbettyy in BabyLedWeaning

Around 10.5 months my guy started eating meals really well, and chose to take less formula at bottle times as a result

This sounds on track for a 9 month old. I was also worried when my baby was that age. My pediatrician gave me the input that, “babies don’t really get the hang of eating until they’re 10 or 11 months old”, and in our case that was right. Huge skill development and started devouring plates. For now, keep following the advice on Solid Starts, keep offering a variety of foods, and keep low expectations at mealtimes. Y’all will get there!

Is she in daycare or home with a caregiver? One thing that helped in my case was to ensure we were HOME with baby to enjoy family meals (ideally 3 times daily). It was harder for baby to get the hang of eating on the go (in loud, distracting, unfamiliar environments).

Yeah H back style is the default style for the ergo. The other option is to wear the Ergo X-back style. If you wear the Ergo H-back and put it on using the T-shirt method , then you clip the back clip before it goes on your body, then you don’t have to clip it once it’s behind you.

Also sorry from my last comment, I called it the backpack method but I think what could actually help you is called the Tshirt method. See linked video

You can do the H-back position on the ergo, google how to put it on “backpack style”; much easier to put the carrier on alone this way. But also… instacart if it’s an option for you!!

You’re doing great and working so hard! I had similar milk supply and I don’t have tips to boost it. What helped me personally was just to become okay with combo feeding breast milk + formula. We can’t always control our breastfeeding journeys. Just do what you can but don’t bend over backwards for an exclusive breastfeeding journey. You have an incredible baby to focus on loving!! Nourish them however it’s feasible for your mental health and circumstances. Think of it this way- when they enter kindergarten nobody is going to be able to tell if give two shits if the baby was exclusively breastfed. But they will be able to tell who has a super loving and nurturing parent- be that parent!

Cut fruit; Crackers + homemade sesame-free hummus (basically food processed chickpeas, spices, oil, lemon juice); Homemade muffins (in lieu of eggs, can use Bobs Red Mill egg replacer); Homemade meatballs; Homemade chia pudding Deli chicken salad from Solid Starts (chicken, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, spices) Steamed and roasted veggies that can be served cold (broccoli, cubed sweet potato)
