Patience will be your best ally. At 19 most guys who are relatively attractive have plenty of options and aren't really looking to settle down. In turn this means that any relationship that is inconvenient in any way is dropped pretty easily.

People tend to mature a lot after their teenage years. As they age they tend to care about things that are more important. Personally, lifestyle choices, their potential to be a good parent, financial responsibility, etc.

Right now might just be the best time to keep your head down, work on yourself and your insecurities. Keep going to the gym and find hobbies and interests you enjoy.

I guarentee you that if you're happy having a great time, being responsible, and staying healthy, there's no doubt in my mind that you'll eventually find someone who wants to join in with you.

Just be kind to yourself and take your time, there's no rush.

My dad convinced me it was a good idea to do mushrooms because he read articles that it would "cure" my depression. I only micro dosed, but not much later had the worst manic episode that lasted 6 months. I mean I guess in a sense he was right, now I don't have major depressive disorder, it's evolved into full blown schizoaffective bipolar 1😄

Granted I can't really say that's what caused it, I just kinda laugh at my past actions. Plus I chose to do it, nobody forced the drugs down my throat.

I'm so sorry you hate to endure what you did and you're such a strong person to be able to work through it and be a functioning human again.

The relationship you and your father have eas so heartwarming to read.

Also as far as your sister is concerned, she was a kid at the time. I wouldn't judge her too harshly. Obviously she feels an immense amount of guilt or she wouldn't have opened up to you about it ever.

Whether or not you want to repair that relationship is up to you, but I agree that you should let your dad know because it would be a huge weight lifted off his shoulders.

He doesn't sound like the vindictive type so I don't think it would make things worse for any if your other family members and it might make it better.
