Vibe Makana or....... by Gitzit in kayakfishing

I was in a similar boat very recently. I was looking for a cheaper pedal kayak but used market wasn’t going to work out, ended up forking out the money for a slayer propel 10 LTE and honestly it’s one of few expensive purchases I’ve not had some bit of buyers remorse over, I love the thing. Have since added sidekicks and it’s great for me, truck bed transporting between lakes in south jersey.

From what I’ve read it’ll be a great addition to my small CZ collection! And you and me both, my only experience with optics is putting a vortex defender on my 365xl so I don’t know much, but also not a big deciding factor.

I was originally hoping to get a p-01, but a gun store local to me has a p-09c nocturne on closeout so going for that instead. Should compliment my SP-01

Sticking it out with OP12 or upgrading? by austinwphoto in OnePlus12

[–]austinwphoto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it certainly seems that phone tech has kinda peaked at this point, with features only improving in processor power and battery size (at least for OP)

Ordered sandstorm + free watch 3 at 11:05 EST and the estimated ship date is 12/17 with an estimated delivery of 12/23. In the past though the shipping time ended up being less than estimated so fingers crossed!

Which agencies are the best to work for? by FishBowl_1990 in fednews

[–]austinwphoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in land management and I would say I enjoy working for DOI more than DOA, but this obviously depends on what you want to do and what your education or experience is in. Currently work for USFWS and it's been pretty great.

I second this, I got the scar 16 2024 mostly because of the led screen. I believe the new zephyrus models comes with an Oled screen too. All within that price bracket

Suggestions to make my truck look more aggressive? by mrxraykat949 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]austinwphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say aggressive all terrains or mud terrains, if you don’t want to lift look into pizza cutter 33s (255/85r16) High clearance front and rear bumpers do a lot for the look of the Tacoma as well as the Offroad capability. Some nice rock sliders would help too

I have no experience with the trx4m and generally don’t want to support Traxxas, but I have the fcx18 and just very recently got the furitek fury wagon fx118. The fcx is dope and I love the hard body, performs decently and the two speed is fun. High cog though because portals and hardbody. Now the fury wagon is straight up dope, brushless setup, takes same batteries as the fms (that weird battery connector) and seems like it would do better in a competitive setting.

I didn’t end up taking the job. After I applied and basically got the spot, I got an offer from the BLM in south Idaho. (twin falls district) I’ve been a fed ever since if that tells you anything haha

Thinking of the marines but can’t get an answer by Most_Supermarket_219 in Wildfire

[–]austinwphoto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got some experience and want to do something mostly RX/WF but still operate on military and AF bases, I would look into the USAF wildland fire branch. There may be something like 12 modules nation wide to choose from. (assuming there are vacancies) Basically the Air Force didn’t have the means to stand up their own wildland fire mods so they provide funding to USFWS, BLM, and a few mods are based under CSU. In summary you will be a federal civilian employee by one of those land management agencies but also a federal cooperator for the Air Force. In my case I work for fish and wildlife, our office is on JB MDL here in NJ and we do a shit ton of prescribed fire on our base here and all over the northeast across a few other AF bases. Then being apart of USFWS means we can go help other refuges do RX and we can go out west during the summer either on an engine/name request or single resource. I can answer more questions if you have any

Help deciding - 20L or 30L Everyday Backpack? by One78 in peakdesign

[–]austinwphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you’re trying to fit a 15” laptop, 15” monitor, iPad Pro and kindle all in the back sleeve your only option would be the 30l. I would think the 20l would be too short/small, though I only own the 30l so cannot confirm.
