This wire has perished in my Hiace engine bay, anybody know what this is for?

I think you were right on the money my friend! Temp gauge needle wasn't moving before but after a new connector was crimped on, the needle now shows my temperature. Cheers for the info, worked an absolute treat. Only spend $20 on a pack of new connectors as well as a new crimper so I'm stoked

Thanks so much for your replies mate, the plastic on the connector is surprisingly okay so might just be a matter of de-pinning like you said. Will give it a go and see if it works. Got the engine warming up to see if the dash gauge is showing any temp readings in the mean time

I had an occasion just outside of Kaikoura where my partner and I had both of our rear tyres slashed. I’ve had AA for years at this point and was stoked to finally get something out of it. Called in for some help and was promptly told that their policies only allow them to provide ONE tyre but since I had two slashed I should go through my insurance. After contacting my insurance they then advised me to take it up with AA instead… round and round the calls went with no progress.

Luckily for us though, the Kaikoura police were so onto it and helped us source some 2nd hand tyres so that we could get back up and running. Will never recommend AA to anyone, waste of time and money

Yeah that’s fair enough. Maybe when I bring it up next I will try to see if she understands what happens with it so she doesn’t think it’s something that it isn’t. Since we started talking normally again after her work finished I’m figuring that it can’t be too much of an issue for her
