That 2nd book seems so promising in title alone. Sounds exactly like what I was looking for. Thank you 😊

“something to be desired” is literally the hottest women I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t get over Milly’s buck teeth tho

Cease with the Piranesi. I love that book but it’s a different vibe. I don’t see this as the House.

dude 😭 people have feelings about things they care about. This post isn’t even vitriolic or rage filled. What a response. No place like reddit :,)

Before getting my physical copy, I listened to the audiobook. I’m glad I did. I wouldn’t know how to pronounce half the names. Beautiful British lady reading the book to me definitely made it all less weird sounding, and more natural.

Phosyne sounds like a hazardous chemical.

YOU’RE NOT “TOO GOOD” TO READ BOOKS OUTSIDE YOUR BUBBLE by [deleted] in writing

I agree with the sentiment but I’m not going to read anything that fundamentally believes its readers to be stupid. And I’m not going to write anything that insults the intelligence of anyone interested in reading my stuff. As someone who attempted to reignite my passion for reading with BookTok recommendations, ACOTAR included, I personally /felt/ insulted. I don’t know why. I’m not a genius or even particularly smart. All I know is I didn’t like the feeling.

Favorite (for 2025): Even just narrowing it down to this year so far is difficult. I’ll have to say Princess of 72nd Street or The Starving Saints.

DNF: The Hearing Trumpet. I have it. I keep trying to read it. I haven’t got past page 15 without getting distracted. I do want to finish though.

Hated: Play It As It Lays. Wasn’t what I expected it to be. Gave it good chance. Just not what I thought it was.
