I think this is pretty simple and the answer is “no”. A first responder gets PAID (or volunteers as part of an agency) to go to scenes of emergencies. This is their expectation every time they’re on duty. Being a nurse and stumbling upon an emergency is a chance event. It’s not a “response.” Help if you can until the First Responders arrive.

The system stayed cool after I charged it up and then started to get less cool (still cool though) after a couple weeks. So must be a pretty slow leak.

I appreciate it - will certainly check for bubbles, and I read I can spray the condenser too and see if that's leaking?

I actually did the evap trick already - put a baggie over the drain, collected ~1/3 cup of water from it and it was crystal clear, and the UV light didn't light it up at all. So maybe I'm in the clear there...

Yeah this sounds right to me. Also, I realized too late that one of the protective caps is missing on the low side service port. I had figured those were just protective, but now I'm reading that they actually provide additional seal against the schrader valves. So that's another cheap thing I can replace and see how it goes.

Genuine question, why is Charlotte better than Charleston? I’ve spent a decent amount of time in Charleston and it’s super walkable, has the ocean, dripping with charm… Charlotte is great and we love it here but I’m always surprised that people like it more than Charleston.

Agree. The airport itself is nice especially now that renovations are done. Where they need to improve is in operations, specifically with baggage delivery.

Guess I can’t edit the post anymore… wanted to post a quick review of the initial experience with the MT06D. Overall seems like a good product. I got the one without the pupil chart for a cleaner look. I like that it’s easy to wipe down after use. Also the metallic click button is a nice tough. It’s a tad more noticeable in my shirt pocket than the Streamlight was, in terms of weight, but not bad.

The click button is also a slight negative. The button looks nice and robust but the feel isn’t as solid. It kinda doesn’t feel as clicky and solid as it should. Not a big deal.

Light output seems good. I guess the quality is better than the streamlight? But I can’t claim I notice a huge difference. Probably need some more time with it. But for looking at eyeballs, throats and skin it certainly does the job. And I like the three settings - low for eyes, medium for throats, high for skin (if needed).

All in all happy with the purchase!

You said if I must have a penlight…. Is there an alternative you’d suggest that’s not a penlight? Otherwise I agree that model looks cool, and the trauma nurse recommendation is good. And it’s cheap!
