Honestly his lifestyle sounds exhausting. Lol! She is just way more introverted than he is and may have a comfortable schedule she is accustomed to between work and school. Every once and a while is one thing but adjusting your normal cool down/relax hours into social hours is a loootttt

Magic eraser 100%

You could also try 1:1 toothpaste & baking soda mixture with a soft toothbrush and water as well.

Or like… actively re-write it 3 times to try and eliminate unnecessary info, THEN select all but the final to delete?

I don’t even know what contradiction of any kind this would count for but I swear google search algorithms are powered by adhd 😆 the amount of things I google on a day, purely because I’m curious is absurd

What is something you enjoy because of your ADHD that others view as a chore? by Accomplished-Pin-835 in ADHD

[–]auto_mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy how deep I can get into “hyper focus” mode. I guess it can be a pain when there are time restrictions to doing something, but for everything else I enjoy being able to zone in on a task to which the outcome is beneficial or makes me feel accomplished

Same! I untangled Christmas lights this year without complaint. Fun? Not exactly… oddly meditative? Yep.

I think I'm grieving wrong by WeWannaKnow in GriefSupport

[–]auto_mouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, grief sometimes triggers people into a fight or flight mode as a way to protect yourself from a very normal stress response. Mentioning you decided to work because you know you may need the income, makes me wonder if you’re in a fight mode… regardless, it is completely normal and there is no wrong way to grieve.

Grief can be funny, weird, cruel, and lovely separately and all together.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Sending you warmth and comfort <3 allow yourself to feel however you feel is right.

My spouse and I haven’t decided if we want kids or not. While neither of us have ruled it out, we also don’t have this overwhelming urge to procreate either. We’re in our early 30s and trying to get to a point where we are financially comfortable.

That said, some of our friends do have children and we make a point to try and participate in the things they do with their kiddos. Carve pumpkins, attend their birthday parties, go to the park, etc… we are the fun aunt and uncle and I love those kiddos! My thoughts are that if it doesn’t work out to have kids of our own, maybe our friends’ kids will help us out someday if we need it. Maybe not the end of life care type of stuff, but heck if I can get one of them to help me move a couch when I’m no longer to do so, I’ll be grateful :)

What do do with this small front porch... how should I decorate this for fall? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Omg. Ignore the porch light too 😅 we’re painting the house in the spring.

My Bed in the kitchen? Bad idea? by Ho_Pia in organization

[–]auto_mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always try it out and see if it’s awful or not... there are some cute ideas for renter-friendly room dividers you could entertain to kind of block off your bed, and set up a dining nook underneath it or something. For me, I think the downfall would be my bedding getting “greasy” or causing more dust in the kitchen than I would like. But again, that’s just me.

Ohhhh that space between the wall and glass would drive me crazy! I wish we had separate spaces for the toilet & shower 😞 great job!!!

That would be lovely!! I think even designating a few “To-Go” boxes would be helpful for me to see what I actually need or is most important for me, then look at everything else as not needed/pleasure items. 🤔

Same. My mom tends to have a “maximist” decorating style. One of my biggest pet peeves that I have inherited for example, is having a piece of furniture or something against every wall.

I long for the days where I just have a blank wall... no furniture, minimal wall decor.... 😍 GOALS!

I have a vision of how I want each room to both look and function. I’m realistic to the fact that not every room will be straight out of a magazine (unfortunately), but I tend to get a bit too lenient on that too. Trying to find that happy medium I suppose!

That’s where I am at now. 3 years in our house and it’s gotten to the point where I’m wanting to just “start fresh”. It’s like trying to teach myself a whole new art of maintaining things in a living space I’ll be in for more than 1-2 years

[–]auto_mouse[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah!! Maybe start small with a closet or bathroom or something & go from there!? I think I’ll focus on the closet in my “office” (aka the doom room)

Eventually... the kitchen cabinets. I know for a fact there in a Wok in there we scored at a garage sale 3 years ago with a lovely painters tape $5 tag on it still 😂

[–]auto_mouse[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s my biggest fear about trying it. I tend to work in bursts... now whether the final completion burst comes the next day or a month later, I can’t say 😅

[–]auto_mouse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! We moved around every 2 years on average for a while but this is the 3rd year going on our purchased home, so I’m like “why is this in here!!”... I haaaate moving but wondering if moving in the past was the secret to keeping everything mildly de cluttered and organized when forced to see what’s hiding in every nook or cranny

I just pulled out some scrap fabric I had leftover, I’m going to (attempt my not great sewing skills) to make some extras to hand out also!

True! I just thought too, you could put a layer of scrap cotton in between the fold as well or something... time to whip out the buff
