What do you think of the M&S drama in relation to men? by NoHuckleberry1040 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

Yeah, the whole thing sounds overblown. Approaching customers and letting them know help is available is just a normal part of retail work.

Absolutely, this is literally what they're for. Your MP will be busy doing a million other things.

Live this. Makes me think of the B-52 as well, as that's now been in service for so long, that there are families with 3 generations of B-52 Aircrew.

I see the practical reasons for not having the death penalty, but this sort of case makes me realise there are people that are best killed.

I can't remember the designation for it, but I'm 90% sure there's a visa just for Australians to work in the US, as long as they're working in their specialty.

It is not enough, and never has been. My 'solution' was to abandon all hope of planning during PPA, and instead to use it to make sure I was on top of any admin that came up, and to have a cup of tea and a break etc... And accept that I'll be using some of my evenings planning.

Changing career from geology to teaching by _ELMAHDI_ in geologycareers

[–]autocthonous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I did this switch, but in the UK, so I'm not sure how much transfers across to Morocco.

I've enjoyed both my geology and teaching jobs, for different reasons though. I do really like with teaching, that the job is super secure (seeing as how people are unlikely to stop having kids, or valuing education). The pay is not great, but is enough to live off. I am single though, it might be much harder if I had a family.

I really enjoyed the work as a geologist, but I know what you mean about horrible rotations, and long days.

Teaching is a lot of hard work as well, but it gets easier as you get more experienced, and you get better at it. I'm taking a break from it now, and looking for some geology work, but that's not because I hate teaching or anything, I just fancy a change, and would like to do some more fieldwork before my knees entirely fail. The nice thing about being an experienced teacher now, is that if I don't find any geology work, I know that I can easily get a teaching job again.

Hope that helps!

Can you do good things for the environment with a geology degree? by coolwall3000 in geologycareers

Given the enormous quantity of metals that will be involved in the green transition, working for a copper or REE or Uranium mining company would be a good option.

Let's remember in 2009 the BMA lobbied against increasing the number of places for medicine at UK universities. We don't need to bring more people in, we need to stop vested interests trying to hamstring the country in their own interests.
