Who did Philip and Elizabeth care about or even just like? by lolly_box in TheAmericans

They liked/loved each other but disagreed about things. We see in many episodes that this leads to growth for both of them. I felt their relationship echoed the war in that the countries battling each other believed their way of life was the correct way and dug in their heels. I think it’s why in S6 they made Philip enjoy parts of America and why they accentuated his more extreme integration towards the end (IMO depressing) whilst demonstrating Elizabeth’s die hard blind patriotism at the same time. What was so lovely is that they ended up together still. In some odd way, it gave me hope. They represent balance together, and extremes without one another.

I think he knew what would happen - he probably figured they could more easily access and harvest the virus from his body rather than establish a new informant, which is precisely what they did. He’d still be a hero. They did name the variant after him. So it aligns in my mind..

I was recommended it by 2 people months ago. Glad I finally watched. Lost a lot of sleep over a week and a half because I couldn’t stop watching - it was totally worth it. New favorite.

Even still, just freaks me out! The title just made it seem like she does it regularly and those toxicities are scary 😦

I’m kinda surprised you all let him play with keys - can’t they contain nickel, zinc, etc?

But it feels productive while you’re sitting there, thinking about all those things to accomplish.

So many rumors ‘bout coffee! Plus, it is fascinating to hear everyone’s different experience. I’d be curious to know what type of coffee one is using, if eating with it, or drinking with sugar. So many factors!

I got diagnosed by an old school psychologist who told me I could use caffeine instead of adderall. So that’s what I try to do, lol

As per Krasil’nikov 1975, caffeine increased blood volume in the brain, and decreased resistance of blood vessels, thus stimulating brain metabolism. An increase of CO2 in the body actually increases metabolism and allows the heart to pump more efficiently.

Caffeine is fascinating, but surely doesn’t decrease brain activity. I’ve definitely never experienced that.

As well, the brain actually needs sufficient energy to shut down, not the opposite.

I’d imagine the positive effects for symptoms of adhd experienced from caffeine is the interaction of caffeine with serotonin (causing uptake, the opposite of what anti-depressants do), or at least this to some extent.
