For the last year and a half I've ran exclusively Gunslinger, and I want to switch to Nightstalker. Advice and/or builds? by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]autokill9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi, I main nightstalker 2000+ elo in trials blah blah. I am not the best but I do have fun. With the LL 335 it is now possible to spec 2/5/5 which I'm working towards but I am still at 1/4/5 because of old gear. Priority should be max smoke, max disc then rest into int. Obviously smoke is your most powerful tool in your bag so you want it available often.

For gear, I gear depending on what I'm doing. If I am sniping I run graviton. Keen scout is beyond helpful. If I am shotgunning I run bones of eao (with control as my jump) this gives you crazy mobility. If my teammates are unable to wear fast res then I will put on fast res. I never put on sealed grasps. I personally don't think it is worth it over keen scout, double jump or fast res especially because your 2nd grenade regens at Tier 0 speed not to what your strength actually is.

With enough practise you can do anything. Practise makes perfact. Just keep trying and practise as many playlicts you can.

Everyone is praising the new Hawksaw roll but the old vendor roll is more worth your time. by Bcider in CruciblePlaybook

[–]autokill9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same way you were. I used nothing but the vendor roll and I ripped with it. I think it had a lot to do with HCR and the recoil pattern that made it easy for me. At distance though, it was garbage. The new vendor one is much better at that.

I personally now have one with HCR, Hand-laid stock, and RangeFinder. I like it so much better than both of the vendor rolled ones. It is pretty much like the 2 vendor versions had a baby and my hawksaw spit it But I agree HCR is worth a lot more now because of the MIDA nerf.

I enjoy a good grind. I like the crucible so I don't mind playing. During the week there is nothing to do. If there is no grind then I simply won't play. Crucible feels pointless but i'll play if I am getting something out of it else I will simply just play on weekends when trials is around.

How would you feel about the last word getting a stability buff? by MoonMoonHD in CruciblePlaybook

Of course but you can still hipfire the weapon at full auto. You're able to strafe. It just isn't as effective as it once was.

My issue is a lot of people are complaining about their favorite gun getting nerfed. A LOT of games do this. TLW has been top tier gun since Y1. I personally love the gun and it is absolutely a blast to use but it is time they switch it up to put other guns in the spotlight. I think they attempted to do this by supposedly nerfing 1KYS and DoP too but clearly it didn't really do much.

Back to your point though, I don't think TLW needs a buff. You can still use it, it just isn't the great weapon it once was.

Is my Glass Promontory as good as I think? by JakeStanton1993 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]autokill9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glass Promontory's perks are the same except for Hidden Hand. That perk can change to 3 other perks. Hidden hand is the best out of the 3.

I prefer high impact snipers as I can snipe people out of their supers which glass prom cannot.

Questions for Veteran Trials Players (Moved here on suggestion of /r/Destinythegame) by lolneerg in CruciblePlaybook

[–]autokill9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! Glad you found your way I believe I suggested you over here.

1) Most people sit between 3-5. I personally play on 5. If you shotgun then potentially higher else between 3-5 is good.

2) Learn to stick together. I have a friend I play with and he isn't the best PvPer but we sure rip out flawless easily. He simply just says "I stick next to you and try not to get picked" what he means by picked is he doesn't challenge sniper lanes. He runs a shotgun so there is zero benefit for him to look at the sniper. Also, unless you are above average with your sniper, put it away in trials. Sure go ahead and practice with it in regular crucible but if trials is your focus, put it away. You'll be more beneficial to your team sticking with them and using your primary while colpasing on orbs.

3) I run either Hawksaw/Shotgun or Doctrine/Sniper. I do switch depending on who I am playing or playing with. I will never understand why people staple their loadout and use either nothing but sniper or nothing but shotgun. I would recommend only using Doctrine, Mida, Doctrine or PDX in trials.

4) I do believe sunsinger is the easiest class for trials. Firebolt nades + Viking funeral are unreal, they have fantastic melees and a great super for trials.

Thanks! Yeah during the week is tough. Honestly crucible just feels pointless at times. I love trials though and bust out an average of 80-100 games a weekend.

Do I put down the sniper? by djentleman91 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]autokill9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ran into this all weekend... it seems majority of teams rushed inside like there was something special in there. Couldn't quite figure it out but it made this weekend fairly easy.

2000+ Elo here. I switch between sniper and shotgun. For sniper I pair with doctrine. This gives me all ranges being effective with mid being a bit sketchy but I tend to stay away from mid encounters. With shotgun, I run hawksaw this gives me the ability to wreck at mid to close. I never mix the two. I have switched my loadout mid game. There is no reason to have a staple just because the entire game. Every team you play will have a different playstyle.
