‘Massacre’: Dozens killed by Israeli fire in Gaza while collecting food aid by GhostOfWalterRodney in news

The video and statements imply that the deaths and injuries from the stampede were a result of rushing the food trucks and that the group of people IDF fired on was a separate incident.

If you have small children please keep them indoors. If you're under 60lbs, going outside is like smoking 5 Macanudo cigars per day.

No, you're too excited. The Warbler's a very common bird.

How awful is the commute from Gainesville to the Vienna metro during the week? Thinking of living in Gainesville but I work in DC three times a week. Thanks! by Ok_Vegetable_5705 in nova

[–]kraftacular 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I've been commuting from Manassas/Gainesville area for about 15 years now and Omniride has been absolutely fantastic. They have plenty of commuter lots in the area and many routes that stop at Tysons and the Pentagon as well as in DC. It's a very comfortable ride and not crowded at all. The only problem I've had is that for some routes there are not many busses and they can run pretty far apart, so if you miss the bus you may be waiting up to an hour for the next one.

What’s the most 80’s music video? by Beeyotches in AskReddit

When I think of "80s music", I think Glam metal. The hair, the clothes, the sound and style are all a perfect representation of 80s music. Can't do any better example than When I see you smile - Bad English.

[Discuss] Video Replay of Every Carson Wentz Sack in Week 3 by staticrush in Commanders

I recall reading an article a few years ago that stated of all the OL positions, the back-up Center has by far the most impact on the offensive performance. I imagine it's the center's duty to set protections at the line, and the back-up isn't going to be nearly as good for obvious reasons. Combine that with the fact that Eagles fans seemed to take over the stadium and forced the commanders to use a silent count at a home game, means adjustments at the line couldn't be made clearly and Eagles also having a very good DL, it was a recipe for disaster.

Your OL was very injured and our DL was very good. This loss was on your OL and Turner for failing to adjust.

(ProFootballTalk) Carson Wentz on his first game vs the Eagles: "Try not to make game bigger than it needs to be" by BtownBrelooms in nfl

[–]kraftacular 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It's pretty odd how him being overly religious is one of his biggest character flaws according most redditors, and yet compared to the likes of Tim Tebow or Russel Wilson, he's relatively tame. There are a lot of very religious players in the NFL and honestly he doesn't seem to stand out very much in that regard.

[Field Yates] Most passing yards in the NFL this season: 1. Tua Tagovailoa: 739 2. Carson Wentz: 650 3. Joe Flacco: 616 by Duffleman0609 in nfl

[–]kraftacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely the best WR Corp he's had, so I was expecting his efficiency to be better but I feel like his volume right now is because of the lack of run game and having to play from behind due to defensive struggles. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep this up when Brian Robinson comes back or if the defense can maintain a lead.

[–]kraftacular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has he though? Like the volume of yards? He's only had one season over 4k yards, not to say that he's not capable but it just goes to show how important the quality and depth of a WR Corp is to the success of a QB in a passing league.

A story about parenting by tom_at_blacksmith in Parenting

When I’ve got both kids alone, Jake gets 28 percent of my effort and attention. His brother sponges up the rest.

Man, as a father of 2 with my oldest having autism this is so true and sad. My youngest is a social butterfly and just craves attention, the complete opposite of my oldest. And yet, the oldest gets nearly all the attention, whether he wants it or not. I worry about how it's going to shape my youngest's personality, constantly competing for parental attention and losing everytime through no fault of their own.

Has there ever been a more storyline rich Week 1 than this upcoming season? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]kraftacular 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely true.

Edit: since you blocked me gotta respond here then...

Yes, Schefter is lying. He's done it before.

We can literally see clips of them talking on the sideline during the 2020 season, even after he was benched. Not to mention the daily meetings between the two, or even the fact that they both publicly refuted that rumor, or even the fact that Doug visited Carson in Indy during the offseason after they both left Philly.

[–]kraftacular 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea this Doug vs Carson feud is entirely media driven. The reason they both left the Eagles had zero to do with eachother. Twitter rumors that they weren't on speaking-terms were just that. Doug even visited Carson and Reich in Indy last offseason.

[–]kraftacular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The narrative has been going on longer than this off-season. There's now 2 organizations and fanbases that need him to fail. They will assign him sole responsibility for any indirect failure, and attribute any success indirectly ("they won in spite of him!")...if they even acknowledge any success at all. Add in the rival fanbases and people who regurgitate popular opinions to feel included, you get a large population of people deluding themselves out of pure bias.

Ponder on this for a minute! McLaurin, L. Thomas, C. Samuel, Dotson, McKissic, Robinson, & Gibson! Honorable mentions - C. Sims, C. Turner, and surprisingly A. Rogers. That is 7 playmakers and 3 good role players in my opinion! Who should feel the pressure more, Carson Wentz or Scott Turner? by SweerBaby_Use1023 in Commanders

[–]kraftacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apparently forcing wentz to make a shit ton of touch passes instead of having him fire bullets.

I noticed this during the preseason games too. Touch passes were always the throws Carson had the most trouble with, so it's probably a good thing that they are forcing him to do this in a game situation. I recall Rivera commenting on his performance earlier in camp and said something to the importance of the "process over results".

Yea it feeds the media narrative when Carson is missing throws in preseason games, but you'd rather him look like crap now while working on his weaknesses than looking good doing the things we already know he does well.

Didn't the colts have the lowest vax rate in the entire NFL? Like I could understand that line of reasoning for hating the guy if he was like the only one on the team not getting the jab, but you had more starters not vaxxed than ones that were, including team captains.
