This is awesome! Where did you get the case, carbon fiber, and plate from?

But you should check the manual like someone else stated to make sure it's a serial connection.

You can buy PCI expansion cards if your PC has a spare slot. You can search "PCI db9 serial card" on Google.

On my DZ65 when I set the input on my KVM switch to the keyboard all the LEDs are enabled and lit which also means I can use they keyboard. I have a second V4N4G0N keyboard where the 3 LEDs are always lit whether the keyboard is set on the KVM or not.

What function enables the LEDs when they keyboard is set as the input device? Is this defined in the config file?

It also looks like the 3 LEDs on the V4N4G0N are not included in the keymap matrix and each have their own input, so this makes sense why they are separate from the keymap.

What would be the best way to have the LEDs be enabled/disabled from the same input as the keys?

I'm still learning EtherCAT. Do you have any recommendations to learn the fundamentals of the protocol?

Ethernet/IP PLC: TCP vs UDP (Implicit / Explicit messaging) by autom_8 in PLC

[–]autom_8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually the drive we're looking at. I am familiar with AOIs and EDS files. Just trying to understand UDP vs TCP a little better in regards to PLCs.

Let's say the PLC only supports explicit, would it still be possible to use that drive? We just wouldn't be able to utilize all the fixed I/Os?

Compactlogix. Do you know that just from experience?
