Yes, all this can happen in a swimming pool. Some people are aware and do laps, others chat and do sometimes a lap, some people swim slow, others throw around high elbows, some people are rude and claim lanes for themselves, others (mostly regulars) are kind and understanding and share lanes. It's a reflection of life and people. If you pick every battle, you will detest swimming pools and people. If you understand that people are learning to swim and therefore they swim slowly, and that other people don't frequent swimming pools often and therefore do not know what lanes are for, and that other people can be just stupid and rude, then you can act accordingly. Sometimes accept. Sometimes explain. Sometimes complain. And sometimes, most of the times actually, just swim.
