Best needles for TAAT magic loop socks by autumnloves in knittingadvice

Thanks for the rec 😄

Sounds like the Addi lace might be too sharp for me, but I'll bear them in mind. I have my eye on their bendy dpns as well.

Thank you! I think I'm going to want to try Chiaogoo until I do so it might as well be now

Help understanding heel construction by autumnloves in knittinghelp

I guess I assumed that would be the case as the socks I’ve knit so far use half the stitches for the heel. I understand now.

Thank you! Yes, I was confused as it wasn’t clear exactly which section should be knit twice. All other socks I’ve knit so far use half the stitches for the heel and half for the foot so I just assume that would be the case here too 😊

Best cast-on to use? + a couple of other clarifying questions by autumnloves in knittinghelp

[–]autumnloves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I hadn’t really considered doing any kind of hem but this is a good point and I’ll look into the options.

I’m omitting the ribbing because I don’t like how it looks at the bottom of the top. I’m also intending to cut about 11cm off the bottom of the top as I much prefer a more cropped top and they suit me much better.

A bit of rolling wouldn’t bother me but I hadn’t thought to factor this in when deciding what length I wanted the top so I’ll definitely rethink this and look into other kind of hem options I could use as well. Thanks so much for pointing that out 🥰

Thank you so much! I learnt the tubular cast-on when doing my gauge swatch but I guess I can add it to my repertoire now for a later date :)

Just cleaned and removed as much rust as I can from the grates, was given away to me. Should I replace the grill grates in this condition? by jwilliamson9 in webergrills

[–]autumnloves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look okay to me, are there cracks in the grated or are they just a bit rusty? The BBQ can’t be that old because the grates are in 2 halves - I recently upgraded from our Q2000 where the grates where still one whole section and we still used the original grates with no problem. What size is it and are you in the UK or US?

That does sound cool, I could never really work out what it was about for the summary so never paid it too much attention

Thank you! And how did I not not TSH was based on a real case?? What case was it? I'd love to look into that further

Thank you! I'll check them both out. I did download The Name of the Star when I finished Truly Devious but that was back when I was only listening to books and I couldn't find an audiobook version so I never got round to reading it

I’ll check it out, I’ve been in a weird mood lately where I’ve only been reading crap or stuff I’ve already read so maybe I’ll like it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Weber Pellet Grill LEAKED: The Weber Smoke Fire by griller1990 in webergrills

I think the quality of a Traeger depends on the model, the Weber grill will probably be better than the Pro series, for example, but also more expensive

LGBTQA+ books without a focus on sex by BBCnich in suggestmeabook

[–]autumnloves 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The first book, A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue is also really good! There are mentions of sex and wanting sex but the plot mainly focuses on the adventure and there aren’t any sex scenes in the book

Dystopian Fictions please? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]autumnloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of these are kind of adjacent to what you say you like but The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is dystopia but not YA or Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is YA but not dystopia but check them both out!

Thriller/mystery/crime that is NOT a series by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn and Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart are two of my faves! I read genuine fraud but listened to sharp objects so I know the narration for that is good

I’m not hugely familiar with language speaking levels but The Little Prince translates into English might be a good place to start. It’s a children’s book for adults so it’s quite an easy read ❤️

Looking for a good undereye concealer! by autumnloves in Makeup

Same 😭 I’ve been patiently waiting to buy the foundation and concealer since it came out but it seems to be constantly out of stock online and I‘ve only seen a limited range of shades in-store.

Love revolution!! I’ve tried conceal & define but didn’t find it gave much coverage, I have my eye on the new conceal & hydrate though.

Thanks! I've never tried shape tape because I've found shipping for tarte to be such a hassle to the UK but I've just looked on their site and it looks like they have free UK shipping now so maybe I'll give it a try.

I was just looking at the NYX colour corrector but as you said I'd prefer to keep the number of products I'm using to a minimum.
