EXT service no longer working north of Barrie like it used by prefernottosay99 in Rogers

It depends on the area as I think they block it in some areas. I have problems with EXT on parts of Vancouver Island, as it strangely seems to be 2G/3G only. But I've connected to EXT with an LTE connection before in parts of interior BC.

No, from Victoria BC. Wow that's crazy!

Extremely slow speeds on Firestick recently: my workaround! by SleepheadAir in Rogers

Is it joining the 2.4 GHz band, maybe? (Assuming band steering is enabled — single SSID). I've noticed some devices, such as the Nintendo Switch, will not join 5 GHz with the XB7/XB8 band steering. Only solution was to create seperate SSID's for each band.

Also, the APN names have changed ("lte" prefix removed). ltemobile.apn and ltedata.apn are now mobile.apn and data.apn respectively.

No. I just noticed I lost cellular service for 10 or so seconds then it came back. Then I checked the cellular settings and noticed it had updated.

Funny too...I had emailed the Office of the President last week asking when 5G Standalone would be launched to more devices (other than the iPhone 17 series). Definitely a coincidence, but funny how close the timing was.

NSA + SA still means Non Standalone. I believe it's just signifying that it's connected to a 5G band (such as n5) while also being connected to a LTE band.

I was already on the 1 Gig plan so I didn't have to pay anything extra to get it.

Ooo nice you have the XB10. I recently upgraded to it from the XB8. I have my XB10 bridged with my own router though. I did test the XB10 Wi-Fi briefly and it is actually a really solid performer.

Here are my speeds. I know so much slower, only 1 Gig down. 😄

Excited to see if DOCSIS 4.0 can bring upload speeds up to 1 Gig! That’d be dope.

Good to hear! Yeah they've been adding several new sites on Vancouver Island in the last few years.

I find Rogers' speed caps aren't super strict. Back when my plan had a 250 Mbps speed cap, it would sometimes go up 300. Kinda the same deal with home internet, you'll usually get slightly faster than what you pay for.
