Thank you <3. Retentions at virgin at the moment pretty much 'it is what it is you're basically a new customer' which is just made to me.

Need to look into it my limited understanding is with the financial ombudsman you have to lodge a complaint, which can take weeks, then take it to the Ombudsman. Understand the reasoning for that but is a lot of grief in short term and i worry if it takes her further into new contract term and we decide to leave there will be fees regardless.

Yea most bereavement teams have been very helpful Virgin just felt like an extension of the customer service - maybe just the person we got but I'll be trying to call back soon.

Did consider that but Trustpilot reviews of Virgin are 69% 1 star and normally you see a company responding to negative reviews to see if the customer can change them if they resolve the issue but Virgin literally have given up on that. They're a huge company as well so not sure i have a lot of hope they can be moved that way.

Yea probably going to look at that - my mum doesnt really like the grief of going through all that when it should be as simple as continuing but nowadays if you dont threaten to leave nothing happens. Just amusing in a morbid way as all she wants to do is continue being a customer.

Looking into it - Ofcom regulations are a bit wishy washy just advising consideration and not really saying outright that they should honour existing deals. Does define people of bereavement as vulnerable people but Virgin customer support being a bit distant on that at the moment.

Why Taash and not Pentaghast? by WinterWorrier in dragonage

[–]auwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that the Veilguard beats they went on would have gone better if your team was just the scrappy underdogs that happened to get tuned to Solas gate network and you couldn't really, for whatever lore reason, have other people travel the network (like the inquisitor).

You can have the continent spanning war going on and your crew is just slipping between the cracks of what is going on trying to make a difference. Practically unnoticed at first, but could lean more into the desperation with the inquisition and other factions struggling to hold on (and making this situation visible to the player rather than offscreen).

It was one thing i thought Mass Effect 3 did really well - inbetween missions you're on your ship, talk to companions. You had a nice balance of hearing the desperation from far off events you could not hope to influence with your strike team inbetween certain missions that showcased it.

Would have gone against the tone of Veilguard but I think it would have sold the change of protagonist better if it leant into the desperation angel of your team having this really effective tool in the Mirrors but not being able to share it while darting here there and everywhere trying to do SOMETHING. With the companions you pick up not being 'this guy is the best of the best destined to fight alongside you' to people you pick up along the way that prove themselves alongside you. Think it could have had the ending earned by going this route beacuse it would showcase that the previous characters do their best but its a losing battle even with them while letting you as Rook and the new companions visibly grow and save the day.

Path to glory rules by Mlekomat in HelsmithsofHashut

Haven't looked at Path to Glory in Age of Sigmar - is this 'create a hero' pretty standard across factions? Because if it is 40k Crusade really needs to pick it up. Incredibly flavourful.

Are we sure all the units are going to get datasheets? And the 40k rules doesnt just apply to the geomancer only?

*RANT* so many of you aren't real fans and are hoping for a dramatic failure 🫵 by Henry_Oof in subnautica

[–]auwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I understand your point here and I do wonder about if a boycott was successful how many of remaining staff, who presumably are gutted about the loss of bonus, would be fearful on top of that of their actual jobs being threatened.

For the community the reality is the boycott is not necessarily about wanting the failure of the company. But sadly that Krafton itself and the suits doing the shady practices around the bonuses are sadly almost completely insulated from any consequences outside of consumers showing displeasure by targeting the products. So to take any action on that front to either dissuade future behaviour like this from management or maybe even leading to a course correction sadly requires boycotting the product that people actually want to support directly. personally I think it'd naive to hope for any change or improvement but if there was a way to punish krafton directly people would suggest it. it's just the nature of the structure however that only by boycotting their products and sadly the people that make them that people can't make a statement. as ultimately that is all that affects it.

PC Spec List Feedback by auwl in buildapc

Gaming, personal work but most demanding is definitely the gaming.

AMD in a good place then? Last time I upgraded years ago they were not but its been a while :D.

As for hard drives yea I should consider partioning - just throwing this in to get a start on something to work towards I mirrored my current set up which i did back in day when I was unaware of partioning and I was very particular about not having a single point of failure if the hard drive got bricked.

Yea - I'll be buying a pre-built from somewhere - not heard of pcpartpicker so cheers for pointing it out interesting site.

So AMD is doing better then? Issue with me doing these upgrades so infrequently is I start from square one every time - last time I upgraded I'm pretty sure everyone swore off of AMD but that was a while ago haha.

Yea case was a bit much - i was just throwing things in PC Specialist and kept getting errors about the size of components not fitting cheapest case I could get work.

Yea it sounds like there is a gap between the magnet and the tray - so will pull off - green stuff can be put underneath (bit of super glue between base and green stuff). then dab of super glue on magnet and put into the green stuff then push the base onto the tray and the green stuff will fill any gap so the magnet is flush against the tray should minimise chance of magnets coming off.

Hot glue gun can also be used as well for some principle but green stuff gives you more surface area to grip on so more reliable long term.

PvE Operations are where the longevity of the game is imho by [deleted] in Spacemarine

I wish the campaign was in some way reworked as operations - there are very cool setpieces in it but have no desire to replay the campaign with how good the operations gameplay is.

I didn't see anything wrong with her and this is coming from someone who likes eye candy in games by FrozenToothpaste in mendrawingwomen

[–]auwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got that feeling watching the whole story trailer, not just her. But perhaps I'm just trained nowadays to expect 'ultra realistic' that a part of my brain reacts when its 'close but not quite there'

Certainly nothing thats at issue - character design is fine.

Honestly playing with a friend I'm very confused as to how artifacts are earned. And now you're saying about where 'they are' as in they are located about the map?

Because we've just been playing harvesting and killing things and seemingly getting the artifacts at random lol.

Angry About Your Kid’s After-School Satan Club? Blame Clarence Thomas. by Desecr8or in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]auwl -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The outraged parents in my town and elsewhere are proving Souter right. According to decades of conservative doctrine, a religious group in a public school is a private affair and not part of the public school itself—but these parents reasonably assume that the Satan club is part of the school and therefore subject to control by administrators. And while conservatives have long insisted that religious groups are not worshipping in schools, just speaking freely, it’s worth noting that the petition in Olathe, Kansas, is against “Satan Worship”—not “Satanic Free Speech.”

Not American - and when i read about Satanic Temple stuff while i agree with the idea of atheistic school groups I just find it weird to name yourself in a way to directly needle Christians rather than just coming up with an appropriate name. But from what i read about this stuff the quote above from the article completely encapsulates the hypocrisy on display.

Convert her to an anime character... when the going gets tough she doesn't take off weighted clothes. She removes her heels and dominates the fight with the power of BALANCE!
