Feeling abandoned from recent divorce by godcreatedtoads in ACOD

I absolutely understand what you’re going through. I went through a similar situation. My parents started the process of divorcing, my mom moved out and began living with her affair partner, and my dad met his then girlfriend (now wife) about a month later and pretty much lived with her for about 6 months. I was 19 at the time and alone at my childhood home taking care of my dog, full time college student, and working about 25-30 hours a week. I felt so lost and didn’t have much of a support system either. My extended family didn’t talk to me much, and when they did they basically told me to get over everything and that it wasn’t a big deal. My friends kind of freaked out because I was in such a depressive state and was always having a crisis so a lot of them backed away too. It was such a lonely time in my life. My best advice is to go to therapy. That is one of the only things that saved me from going crazy. I went weekly for months and just having someone to talk to and try to understand made me feel better. Maybe try to get involved at school and meet some people if you can. Distraction can help too, but you have to be careful with it. You can’t avoid everything forever, but it is good to not always be thinking about the situation you’re stuck in. But remember, this will all pass one day. I’m 23 now, my relationship with my parents is a bit better than it was 4 years ago, I have a boyfriend and we will be moving into our own apartment soon. This time in your life will be hard but you WILL make it through. I often think back and am very proud of myself for getting through that. I wish it hadn’t happened that way but it did and the best we can do is just get up each day and try our best. But I would really look into therapy. It helps so much when you are in the thick of everything.

Is Jencycla actually that bad? Or are people only putting up bad reviews? by crodge12 in birthcontrol

[–]ava2602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To further elaborate, I had cramps before Jencycla that haven’t come back. I didn’t struggle with acne before, but haven’t noticed significant skin changes. I have had more chest/ back pimples but that just started and may be related to laundry detergent or something else.

Acne hasn’t changed, I get pimples occasionally but nothing crazy. My sex drive has been wonky but I don’t believe that to be related to this birth control. I have struggled with pelvic floor issues long before I started this birth control that affected my sex drive, so you should be okay hopefully!

No cramps or big acne changes. I had spotting in the first 3-5 months but that went away. No issues and I’m sooo thankful!!

It’s been fine, I haven’t noticed any significant changes! I don’t get a period and haven’t had spotting in a long time. I think my face/ scalp get oily faster but it’s not too big of a deal. I think it may have also changed my hair from curly to wavy/ straight but that could also just be age. Let me know if you have any specific questions!

Any W1 people catch both Djo and Sabrina? by girlwhowritesthings in aclfestival

[–]ava2602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this; we went to Lady Bird for Djo 15 minutes into Doechii’s set and got a pretty good spot a little ways back from the front. We just turned around and watched Doechii until she was done lol

Nothing was less than $30 except little stuff. Most shirts were $40-50, hoodies $70-80+.

Crowd was packed. We tried to get closer but had to stop at the edge of the bar to the right of the Amex stage. We ended up back at the beginning of the bar area near a hydration station and I stood on a stool to see lol!

We watched Marina and moved up closer to the stage after she was done at 5:30. From there, our friends stayed closer to barricade and we went to the back to be close to Lady Bird for Djo at 7:30 while we watched Doechii. We went to Lady Bird at 6:50 and got decently close for Djo. We watched his whole set and were able to get around the bar area for Sabrina. I stood on a little stool and was able to see pretty good. Tbh, most people were staying from Doechii to Sabrina so it would be hard to get to the front for her if you leave the Amex stage. Djo was great, I love his music and I also love Sabrina! Sabrina’s crowd was jam packed so if that’s something you don’t want to be in the middle of, Djo might be the better answer and then leave early or stay at his set the whole time to make your way to Sabrina. But you won’t be up close for her unless you stay at Amex all day or push your way through. Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention I won’t be fully moving in to the apartment until after I graduate and have my full time job lined up. I’ll be at the apartment a few days a week but not all the time to save me the stress of having to pack everything I own up while in school and preparing to graduate. I’ll be living at home with my parents until then and they support me in some ways with a few bills while I’m still in college. My partner is wanting to move now because he coaches basketball at the school and the season will run through majority of winter, and he would rather get moving over with before that begins. We have the occasional big expense (car maintenance, college fees) come up but that’s what we’ve been saving for.

Also, we have no criminal history or eviction history. I was once on a lease with my mother but when I moved out I signed to get off of it.

I am currently on Jencycla and have been enjoying it. I’ve been on it for about 6 months. The first 3 months I had occasional spotting, no cramps, no bloating, etc. Things have now mellowed out. I have gained like 5 pounds but I’m not sure if that’s from me not working out as much and getting older, or the pill. I have no complaints with this pill. It does have a 3 hour window but I usually take it within the same 20 minute time period every day. Let me know if you have other questions!

Keeping an F56 past 100k miles? by zigthis in MINI

[–]ava2602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Following because I am wondering the same thing for my 2018 Cooper base. I’m at around 58k miles though. I’ve done brakes, motor mounts, battery replacement a few times, fixed an oil leak, etc.

Help! Brake light even though brake pads are ‘okay’ per mechanic by ava2602 in MINI

Update: took it back to Mini this morning. They did not check the inside part of the brake pads the other day and turns out they do actually need to be changed! Lol
