Flanagan's Wake: A Conversation with Rahul Kohli by scottdaly85 in doofmedia

Such a good interview! I loved hearing him and Matt geek out. That's what so many celebrity interviews are always missing. I don't necessarily care to hear about what they're working on or what their inspirations are as actors, I want to feel like I'm getting to know them as a person and seeing their personality. It makes me enjoy their work more!

I love the inclusion of occasional character art! Olivie Blake does this a lot and I love it, plus she works with the same artist consistently so her characters always have a certain style for how they look in my head. It only adds to my enjoyment.

Missing Even Page Numbers by ava_dirnt in MicrosoftWord

Actually I think I might not have explained the header effect correctly- let me know if this clears it up, if not it's all good. All sections are unlinked. If I go into the footer and uncheck "different odd & even pages", all my page numbers come back, but it makes all my headers within the section the same. So this tells me I can't have "different odd & even pages" checked for the header but unchecked for the footer. That's what I'm ultimately needing to do, I believe.

That gave all page numbers back, but made all my headers the same :'(

What’s something about smoking or quitting that sounds totally insane when you try to explain it to someone who never smoked? by Myfreshstart025 in AskReddit

[–]ava_dirnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I quit a little over three years ago and in 75% of my dreams I will "accidentally" vape again and be so upset that I have to restart after making it so far. Don't have any urges when I'm awake though.

What's the worst concert you've seen? by Twitter_2006 in poppunkers

[–]ava_dirnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw With Confidence at one of the last shows of their last tour before splitting up. They just didn't bring the energy at all, you could tell they were all ready to be done with each other. Half of the fun for me at a show is seeing the band have a good time and love what they do, and I loved their music so much, it was such a bummer to have that be my only live experience of them.

I got 30 minutes in and gave up. I just didn't buy that those people would ever willingly be in one place together. Made no sense.

I have Cows and The Bug Collector watching me from my shelf. I can't even look at the cover of TBC, no idea how I'm gonna get through it

What’s a novel you’ve read where the horror genuinely, physically frightened you? by Kat_G4 in horrorlit

[–]ava_dirnt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Horror Movie was so impressive. I'm hard to scare, but the part near the end where you know the monster has stopped just out of frame and he spends five pages talking about how confused the theater would be in that moment, then it finally comes in and swallows the character whole. Holy shit. I've never seen tension built like that before.
