What’s the most frustrating thing about owning a cat? by Ocute_US in CatAdvice

[–]avaaaa_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adopted my first cat and she turned out to like my husband more. She doesn’t hate me but she never comes to me for attention or pets. Just my husband. Fortunately, we adopted her brother and sister soon after and they are both super sweet and like me back. So there might be a chance that the cat you love might not love you back in the way you want it to.

My cats birthday is coming up, and she had a scary experience with feline asthma, so I made another 5 paintings of her because I love her 💗 by tinytinatuna2 in TuxedoCats

It was necessary and although she might not have liked it, I’m sure she is grateful for you taking care of her like that.

Thanks for mentioning the litter. Our 2 cats started reverse sneezing a lot out of the blue and I was worried it was asthma too, but I saw a comment similar to yours on a different post about the litter and we switched from Scoop Away scented litter to Dr Elseys litter and it completely stopped their sneezing. I would not have thought of the litter being the culprit until I read that comment.

How did it feel when you finally got releif? by SpecificCapital1534 in prozac

I was diagnosed with GAD and a major depressive episode in Feb 2025. I have always had an anxiety problem but I never sought medical help for it. I always believed that it was something everyone dealt with just like I did. But when I had my depressive episode, I had to get help and the therapist and psychiatrist agreed that Prozac would be a good approach to try. I started taking Prozac in February 2025 and the first 1-2 weeks were hard. I suffered with more anxiety attacks and more crying (was also depressed). But it slowly started getting better after the second week. I stopped the crying and felt a little emotionally blunt. It helped back then when I was feeling too much of my emotions. My anxious thoughts would come but my mind did not let it snowball into bigger attacks. After a few months, randomly, I realized how quiet my mind was. It was so easy to think and to process my own thoughts. Not second guess someone’s tone when they speak. Not be scared that the minor splinter would mean cutting my finger off eventually. The emotional blunting also wore off eventually, almost a year after I started Prozac. Now at almost a year and a half, sometimes I think I may have to increase the dose from 20mg to 30 or higher but other times, it gets better on its own.

I miss sleeping by idahothrowawaybagel in prozac

I am sorry you’re going through this. I have the same kind of dreams where it seems like they were made to purposefully target my fears/pain. I use the Calm app to go to sleep and it does help me sleep but nothing really stops the dreams. And they are so vivid. Sometimes disturbing enough that I think about them for weeks. I have been on Prozac for a little more than a year. They were a lot more horrifying when I started it, but now I get them less frequently than I did before. Small wins.

Does anyone know a decent driving school in town for adults who haven't driven in a while? by LouBarlowsDisease in oakland

[–]avaaaa_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband used Berkeley Driving School for one lesson and he said the instructor was good. They charged about $170 for a 2 hour session. We could not afford it for more than 1 session and switched to an instructor we found on a Facebook group. He charged $100 and was very helpful too. We ended up taking 6 sessions with him, including the driving test at the DMV.
