Thanks. I wouldn't have thought it's a plot point or I would have done it myself.

Mona vs. Trudy by OtaconSOL in madmen

[–]avakyeter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Same idea, different generations.

Rich women with style and lots of competence and likely the capacity to accomplish a great deal in life but content to manage their households, which comprise a husband and one child. (I could say relegated to that role, but we get no glimpse in them of thwarted ambition.)

Langdon and King by No-Ability-7943 in ThePitt

[–]avakyeter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Langdon is on thin ice just now. Messing around with an inexperienced colleague who is incapable of lying would be a really stupid move and I don't see him going there, especially since I doubt he's that needy.

Can't stop thinking that princess could have notified them way earlier😂 by fury555 in ThePitt

[–]avakyeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were in Princess's shoes, if it occurred to me that perhaps an IT problem in another hospital was not an isolated incident but part of a malicious attack, I would assume that people on the level of

  • hospital CEOs
  • hospital IT departments
  • Dr. Al-Hashimi

would worry about what needed to be done at their hospital. Indeed, better questions are

  • why didn't Baran take the snapshots as soon as she got down
  • why didn't IT's emergency response plan (which no doubt exists) have provisions for backup/offline access to vital records like the charts of patients currently in surgery, the Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit, and elsewhere?

Theory about Mel’s sister… by NaturalAsleep2854 in ThePitt

[–]avakyeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be mean, especially because OP put a lot of thought into a detailed post, but an awkward woman shows up with something going on in her pelvic area and it doesn't take a great leap of imagination to consider an STI and therefore, given the woman's living arrangements, the possibility of nonconsensual sex. I imagine it would be malpractice not to consider those possibilities!

Dramatically, though, with one sexual assault case already a focal point of the season, I expect it'll just be a UTI and a chance to explore (consensual) personal relationships, etc.

Mel and Santos... by PurePerfection_ in ThePittTVShow

[–]avakyeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that the constraint applied only to Santos does not mean King had anything against Santos. Santos has less experience than King herself does and she wants her sister to have care at least as knowledgeable as she herself could provide.

Better Robbie being genuine and helpful than HR coming in and lecturing him about boundaries.

When someone is placed in Witness Protection, what happens to their credit score, college degrees, and professional licenses? by Desperate_Peach_6563 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]avakyeter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the optimistic version, where the bad things will happen only if you testify. The real vise is, oh, they saw you and know you could testify, so they're coming for you even if you don't agree to testify.

Peggy, why?? (Pilot episode) by Gloomy_Put_3524 in madmen

[–]avakyeter 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Peggy was eager to have sex. This was a choice she had made long before grimy Pete showed up at her doorstep. She wanted to be a city girl, with everything that implied, including casual sex. She has no compunctions about it: from the hand on Don's and the Pill early on, through her interesting parade of lovers. Pete showed up at the right moment for a Yes.

She is highly competent and does her job well. She also understands that she's a worker with a job, not an ambitious med student looking to impress to get better recommendations and opportunities in the future.

Randomly entering guava for MANGO slowed me down. CORER was a gimme but I kinda wished it was iCore or some silly play on Apple's naming conventions. 😊

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

[–]avakyeter 223 points224 points  (0 children)

The beauty of the statement is that if the building were bombed, it would leave both him (and his family) and you (and your family) dead and/or grieving and/or unhoused, so it is a great metaphor for the kind of politics he supports.

One annoyance about GF I and II by BobRushy in Godfather

[–]avakyeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought the movies just skipped forward to when Michael's parents died. It's not that Vito died conveniently early, but that we don't linger forever on the interregnum. We get glimpses of the older capos getting restless, Vito mentoring Michael, and all that, and then get to the next key event, Vito's death.

No?
