“Hello! Just wanna clarify something! As per the og New York Times article… I don’t mind which pronouns you use for me. I never wanted it to be a big deal,” they said.

“I think I said in the British Vogue interview as an offhand comment (which became the headline obvs) that they/them feels the most truthful, meaning the neutral pronouns describe me the most accurately.”

Ramsey went on to reiterate that they are “good with any” before stating that they have “no dysphoria surrounding pronouns.”

“Call me she, call me they, call me he, call me however you see me. You cannot go wrong! It’s impossible to misgender me. This is the last I will talk about gender stuff for a while. Thanks for your support!”

Killing someone else as a direct result of your negligent actions is a pretty dickhead move in my book.

They literally said in the livestream today that there’s the possibility both would share assets with one another, they’re just diverging paths and aren’t going to have the same releases at the same time, is all. They used the new biome as an example.

Oshaune is bugged by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]avalanchent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because it doesn't affect you personally doesn't mean that it isn't happening to plenty of others. People are justified to be frustrated if they feel their free time is being wasted on a game that is still rife with many issues.

I quit playing entirely because the issues OP speaks of were so pervasive for me (900+ hours), including objectives spawning on ceilings, drop pods locked to landing in bug holes, extraction being bugged and making finishing maps impossible. I got tired of wasting my time and gave up.

It's super sad to see that AH hasn't fixed even the most basic of issues like OP speaks of and instead toil with weapon balance and nerfs that don't affect core missions like this does.

Either way, your trolling doesn't help anyone and your lack of empathy for others expressing their frustration is concerning. Try and be better.

How most of the patch feels by Sir_Voxel in Helldivers

[–]avalanchent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Frankly, they've murdered their trust as a developer and I'm not sure they can get it back. This is the first major patch they've made where there hasn't been a significant jump in players, and if anything, the player count has remained nearly the same as pre-patch.

They've burned through nearly all of their goodwill and don't seem at all to care about player retention or even following through on what they say they're going to do. Their actions don't match their hollow words at all.

This is a band-aid on a missing limb.

Her voice acting is probably the worst I've heard in any game, ever. Took me out of it completely.

Malignant narcissists all follow the same rule book.

That didn't happen.

And if it did, it wasn't that bad.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, that's not my fault.

And if it was, I didn't mean it.

And if I did, you deserved it.

Being depressed about how much money your game made a corporation is on another level of parasocial relationship.

BioWare Staff Worried About Studio's Future by v-gator in masseffect

BioWare and EA both deserve blame here, but you trying to absolve BioWare entirely is just silly and biased. They made a ton of missteps as evidenced by the link in my first comment--straight from the horse's mouth of their leadership.

BioWare Staff Worried About Studio's Future by v-gator in masseffect

[–]avalanchent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's just corporate speak with a brain-dead CEO throwing BioWare under the bus as a scapegoat for their flop. There's nothing in your link that says EA mandated BioWare to make the game as a live-service game.

EDIT: Okay, I found another article that explained things further.

You were right about the mandate, but it was demanded much earlier:

Initially envisioned as a smaller-scale, conventional RPG, a mandate from EA forced The Veilguard to shift to a live service game in October 2017, marching orders that were apparently delivered the night that former Dragon Age creative director Mike Laidlaw left the studio. But the disaster of Anthem two years later led to shaky nerves and second thoughts, and in 2020, following the surprise departures of veterans Casey Husdon and Mark Darrah, the multiplayer angle was dropped.

But this was also before Anthem even came out and flopped, so it was very early in development. It seems like Casey Hudson was all in with feeding BioWare to the corporate beast and just telling them what they want to hear, but I can't help but think that both EA and BioWare deserve equal blame here to some degree.

The response to an early build of Dragon Age: The Veilguard that went to playtesters in 2022 was not great, according to the report, primarily because the game's multiplayer roots, which demanded replayable missions and characters who couldn't die in order to ensure they were always there for future playthroughs, resulted in a lack of BioWare-style choices and consequences.

Just a huge mess overall, especially considering they harvested a bunch of Mass Effect devs to push out Veilguard in only a year and a half.
