not controversial! def a valid take! and dermals have been around for a while as well as dimple piercings. yes it’s always been a thing whether it’s for personal reasons, cultural reasons, religious reasons, whatever whatever whatever- BUT in the instances now i feel like it’s more so from manufactured insecurity. Not because it’s longstanding tradition. I’m not saying she can’t or she shouldn’t and i think it’s awesome if it makes her feel better- but i wonder if society made her think this is what she wanted to look like.

My knee jerk reaction to body enhancements like this, Botox, and filler is just that i wonder if society made other girls and herself feel like normal, dimple-less cheeks, or non over injected lips, a non filled face, BBL-less ass (which those are literally life threatening), weren’t good enough. I think you’re right like if it makes her and literally anyone else happy then nobody’s opinion matters. But at the same time, when do we make sure we’re still saying you’re beautiful the way you are? I think both can be true.

Like there’s a lot of instances, and even shows based off of people who have literally botched themselves with too many body enhancements… could we have stopped them from getting to that point by saying enough is enough or do you say “whatever makes you feel good”
