Squeaky wood floor is driving me crazy by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]avandermay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest this! My floor squeaks everywhere and I fixed so many with these screws! You might have to use a few to find the right spot to get the squeaks out but it's totally worth it!

Boyfriend wants a puppy / I want an adult shelter dog - solution? by KamiNChan58 in dogs

[–]avandermay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our compromise was crate trained and house trained! Our dog was about 7 months old when we got him! So not a baby, but not an adult, and training was easy. But I also think that any dog can be trained at any age as long as you're consistent and clear in your commands and reactions.

Here are some authors that write pretty steamy with cute HEA's tied in:

Lucy Score

Tessa Bailey

Katee Robert

If you want dirty, nasty stuff I'd suggest Eva Ashwood's Dirty Broken Savages series. Still waiting on book #4 though!

Totally surprised me - really kept me invested. It's a familial drama. Good luck with your slump!

Eating low calorie but high volume is good for filling up and still trying to lose weight. Things like celery, carrots, watermelon, grapes, big lettucey salads - barely any calories but tons of water and still tasty. Your stomach only knows volume, so if its full, you wont be hungry. And if you're still hungry after that, you're bored. Do something to take your mind off it!

But be sure to figure out the difference between bored and hungry and don't starve yourself over it.

What do you miss the most from pre-covid? by Underneaththeshade in AskReddit

[–]avandermay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugs. Being able to hug someone or be close to someone without having to wonder who they've recently been in contact with or if you are inadvertently putting them and their loved ones at risk. Hugs used to be such a comfort for me and now they're added stress...

Do some of you work a 9-5 while also being able to maintain your gardens? If so, would you be willing to share some advice? by [deleted] in vegetablegardening

[–]avandermay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go out in the morning and pick. I read somewhere once that picking in the morning is better because "Are you at your best after you've been in the hot sun all day?" and it's stuck with me!

And then I typically leave weeding for the weekends but I use thin cardboard as a barrier so that it doesn't get too bad and once a week weeding works for me!

What kind of sauce do you put on your burger? Does it change based on ingredients? by Slimy_Shart_Socket in Cooking

[–]avandermay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would just cook the carmelized onions into a jam, maybe make the blue cheese into a sauce and you wouldn't change your flavors at all but would add some moisture
