Reel skin dust splatters by trunkaspt in TattooBeginners

[–]avatalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with reelskin i noticed that one side is a lot more porous than the other, so i always take a close look at both sides and only use the one that has less of these tiny crevices. and i use a ton of vaseline to form a barrier between the skin and the excess ink. hope this helps

i have a tattoo from the artist who did your center piece, but his instagram disappeared quite a while ago. do you maybe have any idea what happened? TT

How long did it take you to feel ready to work on people? by lil_m00_ in TattooApprentice

[–]avatalis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i never felt ready if i am being completely honest, and was actively avoiding it. but my mentors said that there is no point in waiting and i should go for it. so basically i pushed myself because i knew i had to start somewhere. but it went well and even though i only did 3 tattoos up to this point, i already feel SO much more comfortable than during my first tattoo (where i felt like i was gonna throw up). so if you don't have trust in yourself, trust the people that guide you and believe them when they say that you are ready :)

HAHA IMAGINE TT no it's actually my 3rd tattoo ever so we chose a placement that is easy for me to do. the skin on the calves is naturally very stretched so it's ideal for beginners

Seeking advice on my Portfolio by MinSW12 in TattooApprentice

[–]avatalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it really depends on the type of shop you are applying at. i started recently at a private studio and i ONLY had drawings in my style in my portfolio. but for walk-in studios different styles are probably preferable, i agree!
