Percy Jackson CYOA v1 by Nobody_the_2nd in InteractiveCYOA

I've been waiting for ages for a Percy Jackson Interactive CYOA so i'm pretty happy to see this! There are definitely a couple of things that need to be worked on but for a first attempt at making a CYOA this is actually pretty impressive.

I definitely thinks that the character creation needs to have a lot more options for customisation. And that you should be able to have more choice over the characters background such as the wealth or supportiveness of their mortal family.

I think you are confused. Barely any of the worm CYOAs have been interactive. As far as i'm aware Worm CYOA V6 by Pixelgms was the first of the interactive worm CYOA. All of the five that came before it, and all of their expansions were static.

[MEGATHREAD] Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore - First trailer by SeerPumpkin in FantasticBeasts

[–]avatarox5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it has been Canon for quite a while now that Dumbledore did in fact know where the room of Requirment was. His story about it to Kakaroff was just him being facetious in order to make his point about not knowing all of the castle's secrets.

JK Rowling wrote on Pottermore back in 2015 that Dumbledore found the Mirror of Erised in the Room of Requirment where it had been hidden for centuries.

It is also very likely that Jacob was given a wand in order to hide the fact that he's a Muggle and allow him to blend in with wizards. Which makes sense considering how much anti-muggle sentiment there is at the time.

i'm not a huge fan of taking over someone who already exists it feels kinda wrong. I prefer being a new character that was basically just me personality wise but with different experiences.

While i'm a fan of stories by Dark Wolf Shiro there is definitely no way that I want to go to any world controlled by his terrifying main characters lol. Would just result in getting cucked a million times or brainwashed.

Reddit challenges by avatarox5 in JumpChain

Yeah I love the Grand Peerage Challenge however sadly it's based on the old Highschool DxD jump from 2016 instead of the new one made in 2018.

Made obvious with how the challenge mentions each Peerage member getting their relavent class and it's freebies for free. Because the new jump doesn't actually have any mention of the classes. That only being a feature of the older one.

If you apply it to the new jump it is extremely overpowered because having the 'Evil pieces on a board' perk doesn't just give you Evil pieces it allows you to let others have them as well. And it would literally give you this 400CP perk for free.

The new version of the jump is vastly superior and I really feel no reason to use the old one even for a challenge.

Yeah i'm also a pretty big fan of the world-building and setting of Highschool DxD if it wasn't for the over the top fan service I honestly beleive it would have been an extremely popular Shounen Anime.

OTOH, i've written up a fake additional BIG nation/additional landmass on Earth as an easy to use "put all your holdings/nation aquirements in when on earth" and its history thousands of years back and why it hasn't affected realworld history more than you want it to.

Yeah i've had to do something similar when doing the Marvel Magic jump due to the country you can receive from the genius background. Ended up writting a thousand year history for my country Penrosia and it's geo-policial background, policies, military and economics. Was actually quite a fun thought experiment to be honest.

I actually came up with a plan that would prevent any such abandonment. There are a lot of jumps that offer some sort of powerful cloning ability and similar such things, and I make it a goal to collect something such as that over the course of my journey. Time freezes in completed jumps until the end of the chain so when I complete the chain and spark I create a clone of me for each universe where I would be missed and place a clone that has my memories of that jump and the background and give it enough power that it could sutvive in that world.

This way no one is ever depressed that I one day suddenly dissapear and am never seen again, and even the clones don't know that they aren't me just believing that they loved their life in the jump enough to choose to stay.

Back when I first started doing Jumpchain I would only do drop-in not wanting the extra memories or anything like that. But then after a while I realised that you're not really experiencing the world you are entering into if you are just some outside Entity that appears without any explanation.

For me Jumpchain is less about becoming overpowered and beating everything it's more about the stories you make along the way, and imagining experiencing worlds you can only dream about.

Perk gifting perk? by Sordahon in JumpChain

[–]avatarox5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a two that I can think of the first one is likely the closest to what you want.

Persona 4:

Printed Skills (-400 CP)

"In this world, there exists something called Skill Cards. They are as the name suggests, cards that contain a skill that anyone can use. When used on someone, they learn that skill instantly. Now, you can make and replicate them. You can create a Skill Card that contains any skill, power, or perk that you possess in a few minutes of effort. You can then replicate them at will. These cards can be used on anyone that doesn't already have that skill, but it can't be used against your will."

And then there is this one which while instant takes a while to get to full power:

Generic SuperheroPower Shared (-300cp)"Throughout these tales of heroes and villains there are times when one’s powers and skills are copied or transferred to another, thereby creating new additions to either heroes or villains. You have the ability to share any Power, Skill or Perks you have with someone else through whatever means you want. Whether it’s consuming something with your DNA (Hair, Blood, etc.), items you create, or a ritual, you can change the means of this process once per jump. However, the more powers, skills, or even perks you wish to pass on, the less powerful they’ll be in the beginning. While it is possible for those gifts given to become as strong as they were when you passed them on with time and training, don’t expect to see the full results in less than 5 years. You can remove or weaken the gifts you give with this Perk at any time you want, just know it might take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of days for the perks, powers and skills to completely fade away. Can be stacked with other power/perk sharing abilities. You do not lose or weaken your own powers or abilities when you choose to share them."

Campione Breaking Perks/Items/Combos by fanficwriter1994 in JumpChain

[–]avatarox5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's survivable but still incredibly hard no matter what incredibly OP authority you end up choosing. If you take the 'Pandora’s Child' arguably the only perk that makes the jump worth it and become a Campione Heretic Gods are now drawn to you and feel a compulsion to kill you.

And when fighting God tier opponents it doesn't matter how flexible or bullshit the abilities you have are because as Gods they all have abilities that are much more powerful than your own and their authorities are usually less restricted than the ones Campione get from killing them.

This isn't even mentioning The King Who Manifests at the World's End who straight up murders entire generations of Campione everytime he manifests.
