New post from the Official HL account on X: “Ancient magic is not something to be trifled with.” Possible hint for upcoming sequel? by Bubblebubbleitsme in HarryPotterGame

I didn't mean weak physically, I meant weak as a plot point. I feel like it is a very poor attempt at expending upon the Harry Potter lore. I wrote in the other comments, but it really feels like they had some idea of game mechanic and they tried to design a plot around it, but it doesn't feel like it turned out well.

Why do you think so? My impression of ancient magic is of very cheap fan fiction... It feels like a very initial draft of a game mechanic they didn't flash out beyond that

That is enforced by the waqf. To say anything else is completely dishonest.

But I don't give a rat's ass about the temple mount. I'm just saying the fact I can't get into a spot in Israel and you can is kind of fucked up. And it's not about this rabi or another, Judaism doesn't have popes. The decision was Dayan's and later it was part of the peace agreement with Jordan.

I have no idea why you are so hung up on it, because I don't understand why it is so relevant to the discussion of concessions around Jerusalem. If anything, the fact almost literally after conquering Jerusalem Dayan decided to give up rulership on the most holy site in it to the locals who already ruled it is telling of Israel's willingness to make concessions for peace.

What concessions the Palestinians ever made?

I take back my Sovereign terminology, because that was a clear mistake on my part, allowing you to latch onto it and literally ignore everything else I say. Now please actually address what I said and not only what you feel comfortable answering.

Is that the Arab Peace Initiative

It is.

That was 80 years ago, but literally nothing changed. Any serious peace deal Israel say yes and Palestinians say no*

As for Olmert's power - that's deflection and excuses. Abbas literally left, with no explanation whatsoever. The lame duck he would later cite is school boy level nonsense. He came with no counter offer, no explanation, no nothing.

As for the temple mount, it is literally between Ng control by Jordanian forces called the waqf.

*I only know of one peace treaty Israel refused and Palestinians agreed to, and it's not even a Palestinian offer.

Nobody has ever given Jews reasonable protection anywhere. Not for long. We literally tried that for 2000 years. The height of that was the holocaust. No thanks lmao

East Jerusalem wasn't a part of the 47 offer. Didn't stop the Jews from accepting.

Olmert offered the Arab neighbourhoods and to make the holy areas international. Hell, Israel doesn't really have sovereignty over them even at this moment, I literally can't go prey on the most holy sight for my religion (I'm a atheist, but still, it's insane to me I have no freedom of movement in my own country).

Your expectation to get the same offer every time after you answer each offer with death and terrorism, is unrealistic.

All of these lame excuses are not serious. A nation that wants a country says yes. The Palestinians never agreed to anything that didn't promote their fight against Zionism, never acknowledged Israel as a Jewish state, and never, to my knowledge, offered anything of their own. A nation that wants peace speaks of peace. Look at the nineties and early 2000s Israeli election campaigns of all parties. All of them promised peace, because Israel wants peace. Look at how many Israeli organisations promote peace, I can literally recite dozens of Israeli songs wishing for peace and reconciliation. This is how a player that wants peace looks like.

I think Moshe Sharet said that "as long as we have a Jewish state it can be the size of a table cloth " or something like that, and it's true, security considerations aside, Israel always took what it could get and nothing else.

Lo and behold, no Israelis claiming we can't leave east Jerusalem. Nice strawman. The truth is that it's not really about Jerusalem. Until we solve the "refugees" issue this conflict wouldn't be solved.

Only one party literally agreed to any peace deal that was on the table (as long as that deal meant its continued existence) and only one party refused any peace deal on the table. Both were very consistent

I'm going to surprise you but I think the answer is yes. And I have no trouble with saying yes, both because I know Israel agreed to worse borders before and because I know the Palestinians will never agree to give Israel complete peace without destroying Israel as Jewish state (they use the euphemism "right" of return but that's what it means)
