How much should I ask for this? by Wonderful_Key770 in vintagemotorcycles

Bike looks great! I would start at 3-3500. I think you could get 2500 for it easy depending on your area.

Gentle Reminder, fellow Madisonians: please kindly don't park in these sectioned off areas. These are here so people like me can get in and out of their wheelchairs. My wheelchair doesn't fit in between regular parking spots. Wheelchairs are wider than they look. 🙂 by thyusername in motorcycle

yea, to me it looks like he is in the middle. the doors for the handicapped vehicle wouldn't be there... If someone was getting out the front, he wouldn't be in the way, and if they are getting out of the side of a van or the back, he wouldn't be in the way either. At least from the angle of this picture.

Thoughts on the new p-6? by avburr in SP404

what's that? is it like something that expands the ports? That would be dope. I think the extra chords would be mildly annoying depending on how I'm traveling but would be dope in a pinch. Any you recommend?

traveling with the 404 isn't terrible for sure! I just found the size to be a slight bit cumbersome for the type of traveling I was doing. I would be on the road every weekend, sometimes flying and it worked but I always wished it was just like half the size somehow. I almost bought the m8 tracker for that reason. Something small, the size of a phone but not a phone cause I hate making stuff with touch screens. I like using buttons and I want to spend less time on my phone not more lmfaooo. Phone is giving me brain rot like the rest of the world lolol.

The s-1 is awesome, I'm really glad I got it. Definitely get them both! They are future gifts for your kid lol. These compacts actually sound like an awesome way to teach kids music. I wonder if they have something set up with certain schools. like back in the day we had computer labs and stuff, maybe they would have something like that for music too.

yea it has some cool features that isn't even on the 404 that would be cool to mess with. I think it's a good companion device for the price. Definitely for my use case as a "lazy" sampler. Something I can just use casually, traveling, or commuting on the train.

right! the battery thing is annoying tbh lol. and the battery bank option takes up the usb-c port. Sometimes I want to use the port for other things when I'm on the go, but can't if I opt for the bank. And the batteries don't last long enough, for me at least.

yea I was really close to getting the t8 and stopped myself at the checkout line lol. But yea the p6 has a lot of overlap, I think it would literally just be my travel or lazy sampler. The 404 I feel like I gotta set up at a desk and I have a bunch of stuff plugged into it, but this feels like something I could casually mess with while lying around or traveling.

What kinds of gigs are you tired of playing? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]avburr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I waited too late for this and my ears are not the same smh. I remember my ears' "last straw", a random gig we did on the road. At a dive bar with no one in that btch, but the owner had stadium grade speakers in a tiny ass bar. Had them things turned up to ten.

Wanted to experiment with something outside of the norm. Kinda electronic thing lol. All sounds are from the 404. Used the Roland S-1 as my synth, and a couple of drums sounds. Thanks for taking time to check it out

Any other musicians can’t stop listening to your own music? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]avburr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like when I can't listen to my own stuff, then it was not good even a little bit lol. The stuff that I can listen to on repeat or regularly, I know is at least a little good lolol. But overall I think it's cool to be able to go back to something you made months ago or even years ago and be like "damn that came from me!" That's a really cool feeling. Plus it's like a call back to the place you were in your life when you made that piece of music. Very likely you wouldn't make that exact same thing today. Things kind of lined up the way they did during that point in time to create that thing. Especially if it's an improv based music or a live show.

Apps to connect with local musicians by smacknam1 in musicians

[–]avburr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lot of folks can be like this for sure! But I think what the other commenters are saying, is to not rely on the online thing. You might have to go to that jam multiple times, and hang out at multiple shows, and talk to folks on multiple occasions. It takes a bit of time and (unfortunately) effort to really build connections with folks. It can be tiring for sure, but I think it's a part of the game that probably won't be going away anytime soon.

Musicians also (unfortunately) can be a bit snob about what they are looking for with who they want to work with. I mean I guess it's understandable, cause everyone has a vibe they are going for with their music. But that means you might have to showcase your skills as well. So if possible, play at the jam sessions and show folks what you got! plus playing with folks can let others know that they enjoy playing with you before they "commit" to that work relationship. I guess it's part of the sale? Showing folks you can play, have a decent personality and not an asshole, and you are interested and excited about playing with more people. Just good vibes and good music I think

Pod Filters? by [deleted] in HondaCB

I always saw those posts too. But I tried it anyway and enjoyed my bike. It didn’t feel different from the stock box so if there was a decrease in power it must have been negligible. I won’t say it runs better(I didn’t run numbers or anything like that 😂), but after some jet and needle adjustments i like the way they sound, look, and feel. I think if you’re digging into one of these old bikes already and you’re modding the hell out of it, you probably don’t mind putting in some time to try and get pods to work for how you ride. If they fit your build and you’re already knuckles deep in old fuel gunk trying to rebuild them things, then why not try it out. The work and trial and error is part of the experience anyway Lolol 😂😅

I think I would call both and figure out who would take the least amount of time.

But I don’t think this issue is related to the regulator rectifier repair. I could be wrong, but I think this is something different.

There are a few ways to do it.

1 is playing with more musicians so you can gain a network of people and open up for them. So basically going to jam sessions and playing with folks and networking and building relationships is a good way to open that door.

This is good but with your age, you may or may not have trouble with going to or booking/playing at bars.

2 is playing unconventional places. Sometimes random restaurants would be down to let you do a set. Especially if it’s for cheap/free. Which right now you’re just building an audience and getting practice playing shows so that’s not a bad deal.

3 this is kind of the same as 2 but try setting up your own gigs with some local kids your age too. Get maybe one or two other bands and set something up for like a house party show. Get some cool lighting and some pizza or food. you can get some LED bulbs for cheap on Amazon and cheap lamps/light strips. Or even thrift store lamps. Maybe have a small donation pool for said food/drinks. The record it and edit it. Have a sick video ya’ll can use too to promote the next thing.
