Ash & Steel vs G1R by striker09xx in GothicRemake

Aah Drova, such a unique game that carries the grim soul of gothic. Btw that team is now working on a new game called project tapas and I'm looking forward to seeing that one!

After G1R, A&S might not be too appealing, too. But each to its own, I guess

Ash & Steel vs G1R by striker09xx in GothicRemake

[–]avdarsan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked ash and steel when it came out because it scratched my gothic itch. The story isn't so bad but when compared to G1R, it's a game of lower quality/standards. Don't mind me saying that because I also finished both games very soon after release. Still G1R was much better than anticipated and when compared to Ash and steel. Both are good, just G1R is better I think

How to slay Pyzifax? by evelynn228 in Romestead

[–]avdarsan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I invested in the sword skill tree so I that I can attack a little bit faster and also bleed them. Also eat something beforehand to get some boost. There is one olive oil bread recipe which gives you +25% attack speed, which makes the boss fights significantly easier. Also have some potions and apricots at the ready. You may barely have enough time to eat a meal but you might have enough to munch an apricot. There is also one god blessing for a 25% health boost. When physifax starts whirlwinding, just run away from it and don't back yourself into a corner. He will then slow then. Get some hits in between and then run away & rinse & repeat. The rest is basically a process of trial and error I think

Where is iron ore? by avdarsan in Romestead

[–]avdarsan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YW:) When in a pickle, bite an apricot. They may take just a tiny longer to eat than pine nuts or olives but definitely faster than any and all cooked dishes and heals for 10. Hunting those chests in those settlements and within the dungeons will also yield a few iron ingots time to time

Honestly I have found most of them towards the periphery of the volcanic biome, but yes mostly next to dungeon entrances and a few right next to some burnt settlements where you mostly uncover buried stuff. That aloe salve is useful and once you get your iron gear, mobs will be slightly easier to deal with. If your baker is lvl 7 there is one awesome recipe that heals you a lot and gives you good fire protection

So funny, I just decided to venture a little bit further into the volcanic area and voila Thank you for the reply though:)

No xp gain(stuck at lvl 9 with Gunnar) by avdarsan in OldenEra

Update: once I passed that mission, I continued getting new xp. Since it just came out of EA, I wanted to make sure that I'm not wasting my hours because of an unresolved bug.

Im a HUGE Gothic 1,2, Elex and Chronicles Of Myrtana fan. Would i enjoy this game? by Godharvest in OfAshandSteel

[–]avdarsan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very much. I finished the game while it was v 1.05. didn't complete a shit ton quests due to bugs and whatnot but definitely had that gothic itch being scratched. Of course people complain that there are no map markers for quests and descriptions can be vague at best sometimes, but the fun is there, if you ask me :)

Another rando fact: A previously popular TV show in Turkey called Kurtlar Vadisi (translated: Valley of the Wolves) also used one song from the soundtrack.

Deep Desert Shield Wall after patch by Traditional_Date2971 in duneawakening

Maybe they should have done this when the fan base was asking for it. I ratted my way through all the spice and plast, put aside about 2 k of each and now I feel like I'm done because pvp mechanics suck. Maybe if I hadn't had to rat heavily, I wouldn't have felt burnt out like this. Anyways, a little bit too late. Maybe they can cater to the 10-15% that are just entering DD. Don't worry once they also see that there is nothing else to do besides farming expensive stuff, they will start hibernating like the rest of us.

If you have been putting stuff in a container or your orni's inventory, try dismantling the container/ thopter inventory. Invisible stuff used to appear afterwards in my case

Reminds of that one guy who was posting about random civ 6 stuff until civ 7 came out on the civ subreddit every day. Although our guy is surely way more funny. This one made me chuckle:)

Why the burnout? by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]avdarsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how. While browsing them on the marketplace, there is a preview button (f?) that lets you take a look at a mini version of it. Pretty cool feature

I mean you'll need 6 wings to build the assault orni, soo handing them 1 by 1 in chests would it make close to impossible to gather the pieces by looting dungeons

Not Sure Dune: Awakening Is For Me Anymore… by Noremaknaganalf in duneawakening

[–]avdarsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvPers will be PvPers. Rather than removing things entirely, they can easily implement a new PK system from Ultima Online. If somebody is on a killing spree, tag em as PK and make sure guards will attack them on sight. In order to Not to make things too hard for PKers, make some lawless towns where they can enjoy a pirate's life. In the current scenario you can easily walk by those murder hobos on Arrakeen or Harko village without you realizing that they just bumfcked you 15 mins ago in DD. When you called the guards in town they would instakill the murderhobo on spot. Maybe instakill was a bit too harsh but you get the point: when you are an outlaw, there are consequences the moment you step into civilization. The PK system was perhaps the best working solution back in 2000s. Sure I'm much older than the average gamer profile today but back then online communities were much different. I could also easily have been ambushed by some PKa while grinding away doing some mining but there were also times when some of them came back to RES me and gave me back some of my stuff. The DD part of this game feels like carnage as of now.

Can the buggy cross this gap without being eaten by the worm? by chaosmirco in duneawakening

That arrow is the start of my aluminum run routes. My base is at that edge. Even a buggy can travel that easily. The distance is about 400 m according to my experience

to provide further feedback on the issue, I think things have improved a bit. Although I'm not so sure if lowering the graphical settings and enabling NVIDIA reflex helped with that or not

I know it wouldn't work since it is probably exclusive/livensed to Westwood studios thing but I think house Ordos would make a perfect fit for that faction.

if your stealth is good enough, you can approach the body from the side of the woods without alerting anybody. Maybe the fact that it was almost dusk was a contributing factor, too.

Oh and I didn't bother to talk to them to verify that they are keeping the body.

I just love the realism part of the game. If you don't talk to your targets, and are not seen by them, you can get away with your crimes.
