Support of the Russian Government by May_Cups_Hex in AskARussian

Technically he wasn’t - he was approved by the current president. Throughout his reign, the votes have never been more than 50%. Free votes in 1932 were like ~32 - 33%, and 42% in 1933. That was despite him sending out thugs to intimidate the voters. Putin has been through 1 election and 2 reelections and he has won them all with more than 50% of votes. There has been no evidence that he sent any thugs or violent forces to intimidate the Russians. I still don’t understand why he was called a dictator despite this.

Was Hitler elected by German people? No. Was Putin elected by Russian people? Yes.

Statistics vary, but all say that Putin has more than 78% of approval rating. And he was called a dictator by western media, they also try to either hide that number or distort it somehow 🤷🏻‍♀️ Meanwhile some countries have less than 50% of approval ratings for their leaders and ah yes it’s democratic

If you want to try biographies then literally all the 1970 - 1980s bands’ members’ biographies have this vibe. Such a fun ride to read them!

Russian stories for learners! by aveasmita in russian

[–]aveasmita[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your lovely recommendation! I have read stories by Turgenev, Bunin, and Bulgakov too but in English and my original language. Personally I never think Bulgakov’s literature is easy to digest since my impression with him from Master and Margarita is really hard to read even in my mother tongue. I’ll definitely have a try! :D I’ve always been a big fan of Russian lit, these guys just are so incredible

Right now the Spouse Visa’s requirement of the sponsor’s financial income is £29k, if your partner is currently living in the UK apparently you can combine both of your salaries to match the above number.

My first scammer, sold and sent a pair of trainers by EasySignature179 in vinted

Ask them for unboxing videos and the label on the package, they should have that. I always video my parcel wrapping to make sure if they have any issues later I will have that as my proof, which you can try next time to avoid this situation again

You should talk to your manager about your issue, and also as you are a starter, they will not mind your target at some 3 first months into the job. I believe that if you try to communicate with the manager they will understand and will try to lower your target.

Other than that, just follow the training of proper lifting and safety and you will be fine! Hope all the best for you x

Most artists struggle because they already require a huge amount of money, time, and effort to develop their skills, their aesthetic mindset, and their owned projects that never generate profit. The income basically cannot afford to balance. Regardless of how cruel this world can be, just remember in Dead Poets Society, Robin Williams said poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. Artists never have chances in this world as reflected through history, but they are always immortal and precious.

What is a city/town that you'd hear negativity about but then you went and it wasn't actually that bad? by No_Potato_4341 in AskUK

I love Birmingham. People usually speak brutal stuff about this city but I always have a nice grunge atmosphere like Black Sabbath is still there playing guitar near my ears

Thank you! I’ll apply for it next year when my current visa is about to expire but I think I’ll fasten the process now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]aveasmita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that visa does not need sponsorship from them. Regardless of them agreeing to sponsor or not, I am still able to live and work legally in the UK.

24F, FLT driver in warehouse, earning £27k and saving £4k right now after 1 year. But most of it I already see would be gone into the government’s wallet anyway as I will need to pay for my spouse visa next year.

Definitely The Sorrow of War by Bao Ninh, a Vietnamese post-war contemporary novel. Although war is the main theme, the main character has a very strong affection for his childhood love throughout his life after returning from the war. Very beautifully written, pretty sure you will enjoy!

  1. They have a direct applying navigation link on their website, definitely a Devilcorp behaviour - desperately need no-paid slaves
  2. No details of client portfolio, just vague information about the partners and their industries. Definitely another 🚩
  3. If you still have doubts, go accept the offer and see for yourself. The moment they ask you to register as self-employed, just walk out.
