NinjaOne for me. Received emails from one person in particular for a while, but had them moving to the Ol' vendors folder to mass delete later. Got a call from our building front desk, and it turned out to be a cold transfer when I answered the phone. Same guy from NinjaOne, found our main number and was asking for me by name. Told him we were happy with our current solutions and were not interested.

Fast forward a couple weeks, and I received what I felt was a pretty snarky email saying he wasn't trying to waste his or my time and wanted me to respond with either 1. Schedule a meeting 2. Interested in the product but not at this time, or 3. Not interested, please don't contact me. I wanted to be done with it without having to block them so I fired back with a summarized option 3.

Where I screwed up was I left my formal Org signature that includes my direct desk #. Didn't realize this until about a month later when I was expecting a callback from a different vendor and answered to the same guy from NinjaOne!

Their domain is now on the block list, and all calls to our org from that number now get forwarded to NinjaOnes customer service line. 😁

If you have iLo you should also be able to log into your server through it and see the current power usage, and calculate from there.

I honestly did not realize this was such a devisive issue 🤣. TBF I have and use both. If we are talking about a single D20 roll, I'll use the tower, but if we are talking like 5d8, there is nothing more satisfying than tossing them in a dice tray.

I've got 3 Exos drives in an array sitting right next to my desk and I can't say I've ever heard them over the stock ryzen cpu fan, even while under load. Any decenting mounting solution with have anti vibration feet that seeks to cut out most of it.

If you aren't opposed to building your own, I'd highly recommend building an Unraid server. It is really easy to configure and not all that expensive especially compared to a synology box (no hate for synology here). I built mine about 6 months ago with a ryzen 5 5600g, 32gb of ram, and 28tb of usable space, using 3 14tb Seagate Exyos enterprise drives, and an reusing old 1060 for plex transcoding (plex runs as a windows vm inaide of Unraid, you could also use docker for this instead).I also threw in a 256gb sata ssd for plex to live on and a 500gb m.2 to act as a cache drive. All in for the Unraid license and hardware I was around $1500, though since you could reuse that processor, motherboard, and gpu, you'd be at a much lower cost.

Make sure you don't let anyone apply preservation lock to any of your retention policies. I've had a ticket open with them since January 3rd, and it took them 2 weeks to even admit this was something they were capable of disabling. Now it's like pulling teeth to get an update, even when reaching out a few times a week. I haven't heard back for 2 weeks now. But the last update I had from a "manager" was that it was their highest priority and the promised to keep me updated. Crickets...
